Didn’t spend too much time in the hotel. Found our room too small and dark. It was by the back door so we could have our curtains open. Too much clutter on the dressing table and nowhere to put toiletries etc. fan in bathroom would not go off.

The property is very unique and quirky. Staff are very friendly and helpful . The room had lots of extras and a wow a very comfy bed and pillows. Shops, resturants and bars in close walking distance. Also the hotel does have good selection of drinks. I will definitely be stopping again in the furure.

My second stay at The George. A boutique hotel with pleasant friendly staff. Comfortable, tastefully decorated room with easy access to parking. An easy walk to shopping areas of the Promenade and High Street, and for Montepellier Park for the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. A diverse range of restaurants compliment cuisines from around the world, situated nearby to suit every budget.

The hotel itself is absolutely lovely with all the staff being really helpful and the check in process being super easy. A few things let down the experience for me. The bed was supposed to be a queen bed however it was just to large single beds pushed together. This normal isn’t a problem but it left a really uncomfortable ridge in the middle of the bed. making the middle of the bed basically unusable. the second thing which disappointed me was we stayed for two nights and after our first night we went out and put the clean me sign kn the door and left about 10 returned around 4pm and the room still had not been cleaned. We went bang out for a few more hours and the room still wasn’t cleaned. Aside from these two points it wa s lovely stay and I would definitely go back if these are areas improved. Finally the TV in our room turned on put couldn’t connect to the internet as it should have done so we couldn’t watch anything on the TV so it was basically pointless

The temperature outside was 6.5 degrees. On entering our room the heating wasn’t on & it took several hours to get to a decent temperature. It wasn’t possible to turn the heating up ourselves, this had to be done by Reception. In their defence, they did so straight away. The staff were excellent.

Comfortable stay
We had a comfortable stay. Our twin room was large on the road side of the hotel. The large windows look out into the street so it would have been nice to have some type of net curtain so that the curtains could stay open in the daytime without people walking past seeing straight in the room. The lighting in the bathroom wasn’t good for putting makeup on. Be careful, the hot water is very hot ! The check in and out was very straight forward and the staff were friendly. Only a small amount of free parking. Great location to access the town.

Always friendly staff
The staff are lovely at The George as always. Friendly reception and help with any questions. It was a shame all the free car parking was taken up but understand it is first come first served. Also, the water bottle had lip stick on but the chap changed it for me quickly. Good location to town too.
