It had decent reviews so I gave it a try. Although the room was clean, having to kill three bugs (either stink bugs or roaches) made my stay less comfortable. The hotel was also what appeared to be home for several families that looked like they might have been doing construction in the area. They also made us a little uncomfortable. The bedding was clean. The bathroom fixtures had burn marks on them that most likely happened when the hotel offered smoking rooms. Like most of the locally-owned hotels in Maggie Valley, this is an older hotel. Do not let the looks fool you. Our room was IMMACULATE. The refrigerator is probably the largest one I've ever seen in a hotel room. The king sized bed was SO comfortable! The owner was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay, plus his number if we did have any problems (we did not!) Clean, basic accommodations. Our king room had a good size refrigerator with a freezer, microwave, coffee maker, etc. The owner? warned us that help was scarce and there might not be any service. 35 miles from downtown Asheville, but right at the edge of Maggie Valley. No restaurant within walking distance, but lots of mom and pop type places nearby. The facilities we clean.
