We only stayed 1 night but the rooms were very clean and had everything you needed. The breakfast was cooked beautifully and really tasty. We would have had diner there but unfortunately it was the Christmas market on within Tarvin that evening so no food was served other than a stall outside. Free parking for people staying in the pub. Within a 15 min drive into Chester - Wouldn’t hesitate to go back. It would have been helpful we’d been advised that there was an engagement party & live band playing that night as we were staying as we were running the Delamere Forest Marathon the next morning and hoping for an early night as we had an early start. As the rooms were directly above the music there was no chance of this! Unfortunately the kitchen was not open on the day which was disappointing and was not communicated prior to the booking, local eateries were limited if you didn't want to drive. Also the breakfast did not start until 8.30am which was no good when I had to be out early in the morning. Again this was not communicated prior to the booking and no compensatory discount was offered. The rooms were clean, tidy and had tea and coffee making facilities and The En Suite bathroom was well equipped and a decent size with plenty of room in the shower.The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise outside so a good nights sleep is assured. The full english breakfast is highly recommended and the service was second to none. I would highly recommend The George to anyone visiting Chester. The service given from the staff was exceptional. Very friendly, repeatedly went above and beyond. Great rooms and great breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel. Rooms have great facilities, fan, speaker, TV, tea and coffee facilities. Customer service was second to none and couldn't have been better. Very accommodating to dietary requirements. Lovely breakfast and evening meal. Lovely atmosphere. Decor is a little tired in places but easily remedied.
