We stayed for two nights at Comfort Suites in Farmington, NM. The one redeeming quality was the exceptionally friendly and helpful front desk staff — they were genuinely pleasant and welcoming. Unfortunately, everything else about our stay was disappointing.
Our room key was programmed for only one night instead of two, so it stopped working on the second day and had to be remade. The mattress was quite firm and the pillows were very small. The room layout was awkward, and the TV was difficult to view from the bed — even after adjusting the arm mount, the angle was poor.
The shower and sink drained very slowly, leaving about 2 inches of water during showers. The AC unit was extremely loud. A piece of wall molding was broken and just loosely set in place.
Breakfast was the biggest letdown. While there were many choices, none were good. The eggs were burned and had an odd taste, the potatoes were hard pellets, and the gravy had a strange lemon flavor. The orange juice was bitter as if it had too much rind content. The apple juice (a store brand) was the best thing offered, and the coffee was simply awful.
Overall, the friendly staff could not make up for the poor condition of the facilities, uncomfortable room, and terrible breakfast.
