Watch Major League Baseball, relax on the shores of Lake Michigan, stroll along lively shopping streets and attend a show at Chicago’s biggest theater district.

Located near a delightful stretch of lakeshore, Lakeview is a collection of characterful, colorful and historic districts. The laid-back vibe of Lakeview blends effortlessly with its entertainment, shopping and sporting attractions. Watch performing arts events and cheer on home runs at a ballgame. Enjoy Chicago’s natural side at a beloved lakefront park.

Join sports fans in Wrigleyville to watch the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. This is the second-oldest stadium in MLB and famous for its ivy-covered walls and retro scoreboard. On game days a raucous atmosphere fills baseball souvenir shops, bars and pubs lining Sheffield Avenue and Addison and Clark streets. See games and concerts at the ballpark from rooftop bleachers such as Wrigley Field Rooftop.

The Belmont Theater District has over 50 theaters, which put on year-round comedy, dance, musical and stand-up performances. Book tickets for shows at the Athenaeum Theatre, Chicago’s Mercury Theater, Stage 773, Theater Wit and Timeline Theatre, among others. Mingle with fellow theatergoers at hundreds of bars, cafés and restaurants. In September, the Lakeview East Festival of the Arts is a showcase of 150-plus artists, musicians and street performers.

For shopping, browse fashion outlets on bustling Belmont and Broadway avenues in East Lakeview. Southport Corridor presents a mix of boutiques, record stores and retro and vintage shops. Be part of June’s flamboyant Chicago Pride Parade in Boystown. Change the scenery and spot the tombs of famous Chicagoans in leafyGraceland Cemetery.

On pleasant days, Lincoln Park beckons with its lush lawns, miniature golf, picnic sites and shoreline trails. Cruise Lake Michigan aboard sailing charters departing from Belmont Harbor. Spot resident and migratory birdlife at Bill Jarvis Migratory Bird Sanctuary.

Located about 5 miles (8 kilometers) north of The Loop–Downtown, Lakeview is easy to reach by traveling on the Chicago subway. Disembark at Addison, Belmont, Southport or Wellington station to be within a short walk from dozens of attractions.

Had to change rooms because the floor in the bathroom has sticky stuff all over it, plus hair in the shower. The elevator sounds like a rocket ship, so no matter what room you have, you can hear it going up or down. Other than that, it has great views!
