Quiet 3BR Cabin w Peak View & Hot Tub near Cripple Creek

Summary:
This modern mountain cabin is tucked out of the way in a dense forest, with sweeping views of the back side of Pikes Peak. You won't believe how peaceful it is! Yes, there is good WiFi! You're just a few miles up Hwy 67 to Cripple Creek with small shops, restaurants, and some of Colorado's only casinos! **We do highly suggest 4WD during the winter months with the large amount of snow that the Colorado mountains get each year.

We affectionately call this "Park Ridge Lodge" as a fun nod to the original Park Ridge mining claim it sits on. They may not have struck gold, but we think you'll agree this spot is pure gold. :) We were recently featured by Pic2Click as Park Ridge Lodge, complete with a virtual tour and video!

2000 sqft all on one level, with 2 family rooms so you can spread out. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. You'll have 2 king bed, 1 queen bunk bed, and 1 twin bunk bed, plus a sleeper sofa.

The Space:
Layout:
- All one level, bright and airy
- 3 bedrooms on one side
- Open kitchen/dining/sitting area and 2nd living room with walk out to deck on the other

We affectionately call this "Park Ridge Lodge" as a fun nod to the original Park Ridge mining claim it sits on. They may not have struck gold, but this spot is pure gold.

Bedrooms:
- Master has a king bed and it's own bathroom and walk-in closet
- Next door is "the kids room" with a queen bunk bed and a twin bunk bed (sleeps 6 if they're friendly :) )
- Next to that is an additional king bed

Guest Access:
You'll have full access to the entire cabin, including the surrounding forest. There is lots of Bureau of Land Management (Colorado public) land around here as well! There's plenty of room for parking, just make sure not to block the road.

The Neighborhood:
You'll be just 0.8 miles off Highway 67, and under 4 miles (7 minutes) to Cripple Creek. You'll drive through a county area that is an eclectic mix of million-dollar mansions and old shacks on your way to the cabin. The 0.8 mile drive off the highway is on a maintained dirt road (and plowed in the winter). You'll turn right after a trucking yard, pass a few houses, and come to this cabin near the end of the road.

Getting Around:
If you're looking to walk around, hike, or bring your bike/ATV/etc. there's plenty of room around here. If you're looking for food or shopping or gambling at the casino, Cripple Creek is just 7 minute drive away, and you can get to Divide in 25 minutes. Colorado Springs is 1 hour away. If you're wanting to hit the slopes, Breckenridge and Monarch are both about 2 hours away. **We do highly suggest 4WD in winter months.

Other Things to Note:
AT&T and T-Mobile users do not get good signal here. Verizon and Sprint seem to be good (LTE). We do have fast wifi to help you stay connected, and you can use wifi calling.

Interaction with Guests:
This is a remote area and we will not be onsite. If you have trouble we can be reached by phone and can make recommendations on who to call in case of emergency. We do have exterior cameras for monitoring to ensure rules are followed and for safety.

Disappointed
The location of this cabin was "off the beaten path," but also close to town. None of us cell phone service which was nice but also unsettling. Loved that it was somewhat secluded. The "couch bed" that should have been able to sleep 2 people was broken and would not pull out. That was the first problem we stumbled upon. The cabin advertised a hot tub, which the children in our group were excited about it, so imagine their disappointment to not be able to get in after pulling back the cover to find it GREEN and reeking of stagnant water. We were charged for "stains" on washrags (the washrags provided were black) and a stain on one of the white duvet covers. The charge seemed a little steep for no better-quality wash rags and bedding that were provided, but it's whatever. I'm more disappointed that such things were nitpicked, after I had reached out about the issues that we had, and nothing was addressed or offered resolution during our stay. No trash bags were provided and only 1 roll of paper towels. The mosquitos were large enough to carry away a small child, I feel like there is something that could have been done to treat the area around the cabin to prevent such pests. Luckily, we weren't there to spend an abundance of time at the cabin because our experience was disappointing. There are certain things that I am sure are just out of anyone's control, but there was zero water pressure. Better to be prepared for that ahead of time, than surprised!

Nice but…
Property could use a hood cleaning as it has had rodent problems. We struggled with keeping mice out of our food. Two days in a row we had a chipmunk in the house and it wasn’t coming in a door way. The property really could use a BBQ ( that was disappointing) . Although we had our problems, we still did enjoy the stay and had a lot of fun

This place was awesome and in a beautiful place. My wife and I went here for our anniversary and felt right at home. It’s kept in great condition and they had everything we needed and more. I would definitely come back, especially with our family as it was very large and comfortable to spread out. I highly recommend this place if home away from home and a great place for large families.

Mostly great
The location and proximity to Cripple Creek was perfect. Gorgeous views, clean air, amazing decks. The house itself though felt cheap. Everything was of sub-par value. From the toilet paper to the furniture and appliances, - everything felt cheap. The pillows and comforters were terrible. My only recommendation would be to put money into the quality of the interior. Final note, I have an electric car and charging caused the breakers to constantly switch. I was unable to charge from a 110v plug like I should. It made us a little worried about the overall electrical system. Maybe dedicate a plug for this so people in the future can navigate charging.

Cannot recommend this property, unfortunately
The bad: The pans had food caked on it. The floor was filthy - our feet were black before we even stepped foot outside. We had to wear socks or shoes for the remainder of our stay. The hot tub was bright green. The oven didn't work. They removed the carbon monoxide/smoke detector in the living room, which I'm not even sure is legal and made the families with young kids very uncomfortable. I reached out to the owner about the oven during our stay, and they said they would have someone else look at it after the fact, but did not try to assist us. I contacted the owner after the stay to address the above concerns and they basically said "oh well" and the hot tub was clean. We booked the property for the use of the hot tub, and couldn't use it, and the level of cleanliness was low. It looks like I cant attach pictures, but I have proof if anyone would like to reach out for confirmation. The good: fluffy beds, good basic pantry stock, good hot water, nice view.

This place is worth the stay! Legit listing and owners were very helpful! Everything about this cabin was clean, neat, organized, and has the best views in the morning and night! Hot tub was very clean! We had plenty of space for all 9 of us! Bunk beds are bigger than picture looks and other two beds are also huge! 2 full bathrooms. Also very private and quiet! We will be returning to this cabin it was wonderful! The ONLY difficult thing was FINDING the property! Gps is a little off, found it eventually after a few wrong turns and with the help/guidance of the owners!
