All of our homes are being professionally cleaned according to the CDC's COVID-19 cleaning guidelines. We also provide a self check-in process. COVID-19 CANCELLATION POLICY We are following the industry standard recommended guidelines for cancellations and refunds regarding the COVID-19 Virus. Bookings made prior to March 15th 2020, with an arrival date of May 31st 2020 qualify for a full refund. Outside of that, we are upholding our normal cancellation policy. By booking, you are acknowledging and agreeing to this, even in this ever evolving current climate. Thank you for your understanding. Please Note: There is a female student tenant that lives in a separate studio apartment on the property, which is not visible from the primary house, the yard or any of the areas you would be using. Other than a pathway to the studio along the West side of the home, she does not use the driveway, yard, decks, patios or any of the amenities for the primary home. This hilltop Del Mar Dream House sits majestically on a narrow, winding road in the tree-packed hills of Olde Del Mar above Camino Del Mar. The 16,000 sq ft lot with woodsy surroundings and stunning panoramic views of the ocean to the west and San Dieguito Lagoon is so quiet and peaceful it is easy to forget it is conveniently located less than 5 miles to the world renown Torrey Pines Golf Course, 2 miles from the Del Mar Racetrack, 1 mile drive from the ocean (only a half mile walk!), and is just a half a mile stroll to local shops and restaurants. This newly constructed, award winning home was featured in the July 2013 San Diego Home and Garden Magazine. Rich in timeless and classic Tuscan Mediterranean architectural character, the Del Mar Dream House, blends into its woodsy setting with its rustic aspects and neutral pallet and welcomes you with the warmth of natural stone tile, distressed wood floors and Old World finishes. The home features a spacious open floor plan which boasts 12' ceilings and walls that disappear as glass doors slide away rewarding you with over 2,000 sq ft of outdoor decks and patios with endless views. The ample living room becomes even larger when you open the sliding glass door and are greeted with a deck that has sunset ocean views and seating for 10 people. It has a large wood burning fireplace surrounded by natural stone, a flat screen Smart TV and a formal dining area which seats 8. The spacious kitchen features every luxury with modern amenities and tall glass doors that seamlessly open to the extensive travertine patio built around a charming Sycamore tree that provides a canopy in the summer with broad, bright green leaves. The patio not only has a conversation seating area for 8 and a dining table that seats 6, it also provides a built in, natural gas BBQ with a sink, mini fridge, and bar top dining area. The backyard also yields a sizable lawn, another seating area surrounding a fire-pit facing the lagoon, a water feature, jacuzzi and is all surrounded by lush trees. On the first floor you will find four bedrooms. One bedroom with a queen bed and en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a pullout sofa bed, large Smart TV and a bathroom with a travertine tile shower. This bathroom also opens to the laundry room. The last two bedrooms on the far side of first floor are a child's dream. Both rooms have queen beds with a ladder leading to a loft space for additional sleeping or playtime. Both rooms have flat screen Smart TV's. There is an additional bathroom for these two rooms to share. A dramatic curved staircase comprised of a custom wrought iron and a Beechwood handrail in the entryway leads you up to the private master suite which comprises the second floor. It features large windows with views of the ocean, an en suite with travertine tile, Jacuzzi jetted tub, separate shower with shower head and handheld shower, dual sinks, large walk in closet and a gorgeous rooftop terrace with a large seating area, lounge chairs, an outdoor spiral staircase down to the main patio and endless panoramic views. This home is a quick 4 minute drive to the beach, less than a mile away! Please note: We ask for quiet hours from 9pm to 9am. This home does not allow more than 11 people onsite at any given time, including visitors. No parties or gatherings please. There shall be no video, still photography, or film production of any kind without the express written consent of the owner. Please take note that this home is NOT baby and/or child proofed. It is your responsibility to walk the home and/or property upon arrival, to make this space safe for your children. We assume no liability for harm/death to any baby or child staying or visiting this vacation rental. CANCELLATIONS – A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty, aside from a $500 restocking fee. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment (not including deposit and cleaning fee). Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent. If you wish to shorten your existing reservation with VRBKIM, and your reservation is further than 60 days away, we do charge a $100 restocking fee to make this adjustment.
