“The views were extraordinary and the location, peaceful. The accommodations were better than expected with simple amenities free of charge, such as coffee, beverages and snacks, with replenishment upon request at no extra charge. Communication was prompt. My mom and I slept well every night of our 6-night stay. This location is ideal if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle and still be relatively close to basic shopping. “Host was responsive while being pretty matter of fact, wouldn’t say I was bowled over with the warmth of his welcome. It’s pretty obvious this place is for those on a budget and the experience and amenities represented that. I only stayed for one night due to what I considered to be unworkable conditions and host was agreeable to refund for the additional nights which is why I’m giving him three stars but ultimately I was out several hundred dollars as the platform fees, etc., were not……

“Our host was very responsive to any questions or issues that we needed to be addressed. The condo had been renovated with stylish tile, countertops, etc. The island power surges/blips tripped our AC twice, but it was easily reset once we learned the steps needed. End of March was a great time to visit - not crowded and the weather was great!”

“We extended our stay by 2 nights and needed a place to stay. The Mermaid worked out fine for us (could use a new mattress) and the view was amazing! The owner was great and very easy to work with and replied to us right away. We did not enjoy the ride to get up there, but we were warned about it in the description. You do need an SUV to travel up there. Thanks for the stay!”

“The apartment truly does sit in the heart of Christiansted - a perfect location for popping out to a local dinner, browsing local shops, heading out for an excursion, or ducking downstairs to the juice bar. The space was well maintained very clean, and provided everything we need. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this apartment for a trip to Christiansted.”
