There were some dead things in the glass lampshade,and the mattress was the most uncomfortable that we have ever encountered. Let me be clear that the hotel staff etcetera are first class and the only other slight complaint was that dinner was cooked really well but absolutely tasteless (pork belly in cider sauce). Family and staff were accommodating and friendly and the room was clean and provided all the necessities. Would have enjoyed the garden if the weather had been warmer. Breakfast was amazing! Allowed two dogs which was great. It was a very happy experience staying at the Anchor Inn. Staff friendly and helpful, lovely food. Room very compact, not much storage. Could have done with bedside cabinets.
