“The converted jail was such an interesting and unique place to stay. The property is beautiful, the house and room were clean and inviting, and the cell block was a great place to hang out and explore. We loved morning coffee on the balcony and the fabulous whirlpool tub for relaxing. Make sure to check out the incredible food at the local Algerian restaurant, and a lovely river walk, or explore the four story antique mall in town!”

“I'm not quite sure if it was cleaned between travelers. It was not filthy, but dishwasher had dirty dishes in it. Take a lighter and your own soap with you, dishwasher pods are the only soap furnished. I'm sure what I bought will be gone. Paper products are also in short supply. The location and property were great for our stay.”

“This place is in town and close to shops and restaurants. The train tracks across the street are busy with freight trains, so that can get loud. Inside is clean. The kitchenette is small but has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There is a large table and chairs in the main room with 2 beds. I found the main room to be a little dark, even with all the lights on. Overall, an excellent place to stay and the owners were communicative and responded promptly to messages.”

“We stayed in the pocket city penthouse. It was quite spacious, with historic charm (gorgeous wood floors), and had a wonderful view of the Mississippi. This place and McGregor in general, are gems for anyone who appreciates history-- and especially those who enjoy a mix of natural beauty and preserved architecture.”
