Mornings begin slowly here. Step out back into the private green space for a rejuvenating yoga session as deer wander by. Afterwards, soak in the sauna and enjoy the restorative benefits of red-light therapy.

Walnut Mountain offers plenty of amenities to explore. Wander the scenic trails, discover a hidden waterfall or try your hand at fishing in one of several catch and release lakes. You can also enjoy the seasonal pool, pickleball and basketball courts, all included at no extra cost.

Evenings are made for relaxation here. Gather around the fire pit on the front deck as the sun dips behind the mountains, or cozy up in the screened in patio to watch a movie outdoors. For those blending work with escape, a dedicated office ensures you can stay productive without missing the mountain scenery.

Cozy Stay Far Away is a charming 1970's built cabin that blends rustic character with modern comfort. With its warm, lived-in feel, you may notice the occasional creaky floorboard or a slight slope here and there but we think these little quirks are part of what makes this place so special and full of charm.

If you’re looking for a true rustic mountain cabin then this is the one for you. The views were good and the wildlife was abundant. Easy access and convenient to Elijjay and other smaller vibrant towns. We would stay at this cabin again.

Perfect Family Getaway!

We traveled to this beautiful cabin for our first trip as a family of 4. My husband and I love traveling so we know we want our kids to love it too. We also know that traveling with kids takes some practice so we kept it close to home and just two nights to get started. This was the perfect place! It was incredibly clean which made it reassuring with a newborn and toddler. They had many thoughtful touches from a pack ‘n play and plates and utensils for kids to a monitor and noise machine. With so many nice features, our kids slept well (and so did we on the incredibly comfortable bed)! Also, one of our toddler’s favorite toys is magnatiles, so we were delighted to see them there. For outside adventures, we were able to explore right around the property and on the playground as well as venture to one of the lakes within walnut mountain to go fishing. We can’t wait to come back when the pool is open, and we have more time to explore the other three lakes. The location is also so convenient as we felt like we were in the mountains but also easily ventured to Mountain Valley Farm, Reece’s, and Cartecay Winery. And when we forgot to pick up charcoal (even though Lindsey reminded us), we easily had some door dashed during our toddler’s nap. Lindsey was also so easy to communicate with regardless of topic or time of day. It was such a special first trip as a family of four, and we only wish we could have stayed longer!
