1. This is a privately owned unit 2417 within the resort and as such, the resort hands you key bracelets and you are on your own from there. No services from staff for your unit.
2. Upon arrival, the door to 2417 has the closer set much to tightly so it requires brute force to open and a shoulder to prevent slammed closures.
3. Serious neglect regarding painting of walls, ceiling and trim. The bottom of the bathroom door trim is rusted out and the door glide is missing.
4. The shower curtain is new but the shower rod is barely attached to the wall and hangs down rather than its intended outward curvature.
5. The shower valve has a worn out bushing or O-ring allowing hours of wasted water. Also, the toilet runs continuously.
6. The screen door to the front facing lanai (not ocean view) needs rescreening and new rollers.
7. The unit lacks a proper cleaning and a dresser or armoire so it's difficult to unpack/organize clothing. No welcome basket or mini-bar, just two packets of decaf coffee.
8. The resort itself is nice, great pool and water slides, bar and restaurant are very good, the gym is excellent but off limits for 2417, employees are great, ocean views are relaxing and live musician in the bar was great each evening. Drinking water and ice machine are on 3rd floor. Excellent landscaping and ponds. Several free standing buildings on the grounds are due for demolition.
9. The resort is convenient to the airport and Lihue but a car or ride is necessary as nothing close by.
