Well what can we say that hasn’t been said before? Our room was an eighties time warp, all swags and tails, two wallpapers and wide boarder. There are no facilities at the hotel, unless you count the tea & coffee making facilities in the room! The bed was very comfortable and bedding good. Carpeting is worn with potential for danger as holes starting to appear on the stairs. Towels are mainly frayed. The potential at this hotel is enormous, the number of visitors passing its doors just to see the infamous Jimmy Perez’s cottage next door alone and asking if there is food or drink available. We understand that it is a listed building but it is in serious need of modernisation.
So why did we stay at a cost of over £200 per night ? Very simply there was no where else available in Lerwick for our dates and whilst that continues the owner will no doubt continue to get away with the conditions as they are.
