Our recent stay here was bad, some of that was within the hosts control... some was not, I will only include what was in the hosts control in the below review.
Upon Arrival we were greeted with the loud chirping of a smoke detector with a dead battery. This would set the tone for the rest of the stay... I went ahead and removed the battery to stop the chirping. The frustrating part of this is that her house keeper was there when we arrived and stayed ~10 minutes into the check-in time, it was chirping the entire time, but it fell on me to resolve. As we surveyed the house and bedrooms the overall tone of the property is disrepair. All of the in ceiling lights flickered in the mainroom, in the master bathroom only a single lightbulb worked of the 4 there were, also the exhaust fan would only work if the light itself was also switched to the on position (the fan was switched separately but the light had to be on). In another guest bathroom only one bulb worked as well, the toilet paper holder fixture was also badly damaged upon arrival an no longer functional. In one of the guest rooms there were no switched lights rather some remote driven lights, none of which worked. In fact most items that had batteries did not work, the touch free garbage can, the touch free faucet, most of the remotes for the various electronics... nothing worked!
Things became inexcusably bad when we decided to go to bed. There are no curtains in the entire house, just wide white plastic blinds, as a result no bedroom was actually dark. The neighborhood is not great and most people... including the neighbors left lights on all night long, without curtains it was almost like trying to sleep during the day. Besides the neighbors the host also keeps a flood light turned on 24/7, it shines directly into two bedrooms. Back to the general state of things, the master bedroom has French doors leading out to the pool with integrated blinds, these are light filtering fabric blinds that allow light to stream through, besides that though they were so poorly installed there was a large gap at the bottom and lower side of the door that also let light and bugs and who knows what else in. This is very similar to the front door of the property that was so loose the host was able to haphazardly run the cord for her ring doorbell through the gap when the door was closed. As I run out of words... imagine the worst beds and pillows you can, that is what the host provides. Avoid at all costs!
