We have been staying at the Oak Tree for many years when visiting Scotland and it is always a great highlight. The staff are always lovely and this trip, Kay really stood out as an exceptional server. She was so friendly and kind and made sure everyone was enjoying their stay. Beautiful location on the east bank of Loch Lomond. Perfect place to stay for a planned climb of Ben Lomond or any other activities related to Loch Lomond. We stayed in one of the cottages. A lovely room and bathroom with a view of the loch. Super breakfast too in the main building.

We had a lovely stay here while hiking along the West Highland Way. The rooms were nicely furnished and in cottages right on the Loch. Staff were very helpful and accommodating and we had a great meal in the restaurant.

The food was excellent both at the pub/ restaurant and cafe and the staff were friendly. We have travelled a lot and I’ve never felt so mis-led about a property. The hotel has no access to the lake or the lovely grass yard in front of it. It is almost completely enclosed by a 6ft high fence with “no access” signs all over it that are pretty much what you are looking at. Also, there was no fridge or coffee maker (even tho they roast coffee on site!) in our room and the little store and cafe both closed at 6pm.

Stayed in a superior pod, very contemporary, comfortable, clean, and well insulated from the weather with lovely views of the loch and mountains. Not much in the immediate area food wise (would need to drive to Balloch for any alternative dining options) but the food at Oaktree was lovely, tasty and filling. Good choice of whisky too.
