This gem of a property had everything we needed. Comfort, space cleanliness a great host who met us upon arrival. The location was perfect as we were seeing family who live in the same Village. Only a bus ride from Brighton too. Will definitely be saving this on my ‘must return’ list!

A Perfect Stay in Henfield
This is a very nice place that is perfect for anyone coming to stay in Sussex. The flat is light, airy, and quiet, and very well appointed. It is also ideally situated just off the High Street, with its shops and restaurants. The owners, Jo and Gavin, are incredibly nice, and even looked in on me when I took ill for a couple of days. I look forward to returning in the near future to explore more of the South Downs. Thanks again, from Canada.

A perfect stay during a busy week
I booked 3 nights at this VRBO cottage in the middle of a long work trip through England and Amsterdam. After being on the road for a week, I was looking forward to cooking for ourselves and especially washing clothes mid-trip. This beautiful, quiet cottage certainly fit the bill. It was absolutely spotless, we'll-appointed and super comfortable. Off a side street in the middle of tiny Henfield, it was surprisingly silent at night, yet easily walkable to grocers and restaurants. Our host, Jo, was very responsive when I embarrassingly couldn't figure out how to work some appliances, and was available to answer any questions. The kitchen was stocked with eggs, milk, fresh bread and jam for our first breakfast and a wood stove came ready for a fire, which was welcomed on the cold wet nights. The washer worked great and a drying rack was provided. The huge king-size bed was amazingly comfortable and the shower dumped plenty of hot water. We could not have asked for more and are super appreciative that Jo and Gavin offered their charming guest house for a stay.

A perfect getaway
This was a little oasis of calm, just a few steps away from the village, and very central for all our needs. The accommodation was delightful, as was the garden. An incredibly comfortable bed. Just lovely. We live in a rural very quiet area, and were a bit concerned at first about the proximity of other houses and perhaps traffic noise, but honestly, we didn't hear a thing. Delightful independent shops in the village; beautiful walks from the door. Nothing not to like. We loved it, and thank our hosts for their highly professional and friendly hosting.

We had a lovely stay at Whistlestop. It was a perfect base to visit all the places we wanted to on the south coast. The studio had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. We had the added bonus of visits every day from Macy and Chilli, the Jack Russells. Would definitely stay there again.

Jo Gavin and two beautiful dogs!
Excellent location in a quiet but central position a stones throw from shops for all your essential needs. Parking space in front of the studio apartment. Studio well fitted out to cater for all of a guests needs. Comfy bed. Excellent walk in shower. Very clean throughout. Use of a beautiful garden that was at its best in early July with accompanying garden furniture for alfresco dining. Jo and Gavin always available if required for advice and guidance regarding the local area. But the real stars of the show. Maisie and Chilli, two beautiful Jack Russells! That came to visit us several times a day! We will be back just to see the dogs!

A little bit of paradise!
The Whistle Stop is one of the nicest places we have stayed. every little detail has been thought about. The location in Henfield is perfect for exploring the Sussex area and has several lovely pubs and places to eat. The owners Jo and Gavin are lovely people and the garden they have created is beautiful and relaxing with the smell of Jasmine in the evening. They thoughtfully left tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter and jam and marmalade. Eggs and biscuits also! Bed was super comfy and we never heard a thing after dark. Parking spot right outside. If you like dogs, they have two gorgeous Jack Russell's who will pop in to enjoy being fussed over. We looked forward to our greeting every morning! We will definitely stay again when visiting the area.

Awesome spot in the village!
This was an incredibly delightful place! We were in for a wedding in the village and found this. The cottage is absolutely lovely, comfortable, has a parking spot, AND is dead center in town off the high street. For us it was a 5 minute walk to our friend’s house and even faster to all the necessities of breakfast, pub, grocery, etc. Lovely host as well!

Exceeded expectations
We had read the reviews on this site, which were all very positive, and were looking forward to our 12-day stay at The Whistlestop. It did not disappoint. Well designed accommodation, spacious, warm, and sheltered us beautifully during Storm Eunice! A few short power cuts, but all was well, and all came back on perfectly. We were very grateful that during the Red Alert we were able to walk a very short distance to Budgens for some provisions to see us through - a surprisingly well-stocked shop on your doorstep is a real bonus. We also discovered that the coffee and cake in the Post Office Teashop on the nearby High Street was a delightful place, best coffee I have been served for ages, and all very friendly. Extremely comfortable bed, lovely large bathroom and rain shower, and warm sunny kitchen/lounge/diner. Jo was very helpful throughout our stay. We are booking again for next year, need I say more?

This property is tucked away from the high street of Henfield, a beautiful Sussex village. It is clean, modern and supplies all your needs, including a little starter pack of milk, bread, butter, eggs and biscuits.
