"Check you room first! The first room I was given had a dirty bathroom, including a wet wash cloth in the soap holder. Completely unacceptable. The second room was unsafe- a used wash cloth was on the ground in front of the door, which was already propped open! I went back to the front desk to inform they still didn't have it right. I was finally given an accessible room. It was clean enough, though I don't think the floors had been mopped all summer. The bed was like cardboard.There's a Walmart across the parking lot in case you may want to purchase cleaning or other items to compliment your stay. "

"This hotel is perfect. It is in a perfect location for your trip to Saint Joe Michigan. You can walk everywhere. The staff is super friendly."

"We always stay at this property when going to St. Joseph, at least once or twice a year. The hotel is clean, location is perfect for walking to Silver Beach, or downtown to restaurants and shopping. The restaurant at the hotel, Bistro on the Boulevard, is always delicious. We always make this are go to for evening meal on the day we arrive. Looking forward to our next stay! "

"The rooms could definitely use some TLC. The carpet was stained. A floor lamp with a missing on/off knob. Wallpaper coming off the wall and the bed was squeaky and uncomfortable. The freezer part of the fridge was so full of ice you couldn’t put anything in it. On a good note; the bathroom was very clean, however, the water would only get warm. When we went for breakfast we were happy to see that it was very clean and there was someone there cleaning as people were getting food. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. In a pinch I would stay there again but not for what I paid this time. "

"I absolutely loved this property! They were so kind to our family from start to finish. My daughter had trouble sleeping because she forgot her medication. My wife had to drive 2 1/2 hours back home, 2 1/2 hours back to bring it to her. She woke up late for breakfast, but the staff was so kind and hooked her up anyway. They didn’t have to do that because it isn’t required. They offered to do that just because. They didn’t even know the whole situation of why she woke up late. when we go back we will use this location again!"

"We enjoyed our stay at the 1888 house while visiting for the weekend. The beds were comfortable though I did wish some of the seating options were more aware of comfort rather than just looks, but we made it work with the couch! We would totally stay here again because it was by far the most affordable and cute little spot in the area. The host was super responsive and communicated quickly when needed. "
