Luxurious Converted Bothy/Barn In an Idyllic Setting

This stunning property is situated with in i40 acres of Adambottom Farm . The Bothy is located at the end of a line of traditional outbuildings and was once a hay barn. The Bothy consists of an entrance hall with a washer dryer and stairs leading to the living/ dining room. A beautiful bedroom overlooking the wood leading down to the river and well appointed bathroom next door with a bath and shower.The Bothy is a luxurious and beautiful retreat from it all! There is oil heating and a woodburner so wonderful all year round.It has iaccess to a woodland garden. which also leads down to the River Ure. There is plentiful supply of wild salmon and trout to fish. A wildlife haven for many birds and wild flowers. Wensleydale boasts extensive attractions. Such as the magnificent Aysgarth Falls and splendid Bolton Castle both walkable from the Bothy,there are many other beautiful walks. There are excellent pubs and restaurants within easy reach. Nearby market towns and iconic villages provide a rich variety of shops and places of interest. Fountains Abbey,York and Whitby are also within reach.

The Bothy is a beautiful place to stay. Very cosy and relaxing with everything you could possibly need. A well stocked kitchen and a lovely bathroom with a hot shower. The bed was honestly so comfortable that we looked at the make and model in order to get one! The log burner was a real treat and there was plenty of wood.The surrounding area is breathtaking with lovely walks and places to visit close by. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly.We loved the pheasants and doves and we were extremely lucky and privileged to see a ewe give birth to her lambs. It was wonderful to stay on a working farm and we will certainly return .

My wife and I spent five days here while we explored the Dales. It is absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. The farm is really beautiful and partridges visit every morning. My wife and I loved our stay and we will be back.

The bothy was a very nice place to stay, especially if you want to be outside of a noisy town and enjoy the sounds of the country, sheep baa-ing,horses naying. Joyful!The bothy was well equipped in the kitchen, and had a blow dryer, curling iron, and ironing board/iron. We found it clean and tidy and the owner is on the premises if you need anything.

A really comfortable and charming property. Very clean with a well equipped kitchen. The bed was also good (even for me with a bad back). The location is superb - in a quiet valley, an easy walk to Bolton castle and just a stroll to Aysgarth waterfalls. As a map will show, really close to Wensley and Leyburn with nice pubs. Juliet and David were very friendly hosts (as were the sheep).

Wonderful stay at The Bothy

We stayed for two weeks at The Bothy. We used it as a base to explore the Dales. We enjoyed seeing the local sights and villages. There are numerous sites to visit within one hour’s drive. Also, there are nice walks from the front door to visit Aysgarth Falls, Cauldron Falls at West Burton, and a longer walk to Bolton Castle. We found the cottage to be comfortable, including plenty of cooking utensils, good stove and a reasonable-size fridge. There was plenty of hot water for the comfortable bath and shower. The bed was comfortable. The small sofa was a little tired, but reasonable. The washing machine and dryer worked very well. Bothy cottage is on a working farm. There is also bird life in the area, including a white owl and the ever-present colourful pheasants. The owners live onsite and are not intrusive, but are there if one needs assistance. The scenery on this farm is very beautiful. Thank you for the lovely stay.

Yorkshire retreat

We had a good stay in early September, though the weather could have been better. Great walks from the bothy and easy drives in the area, Leyburn is a convenient stop and Campbell's was wonderful. We were somewhat disappointed not to have met or interacted with our hosts, but otherwise it was a good holiday.

Respite in the Dales

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. The Bothy was perfectly decorated and set up for a wonderful stay. The location could not have been better with the ability to walk to the Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle, and to embark upon longer drives and hikes throughout the Dales. We could not have asked for a better spot to stay.

Wonderful Stay at the Bothy!

My husband and I had 5 glorious nights at the Bothy and wished it could have been longer. Juliet and her husband were really helpful and accommodating, the apartment was lovely and comfortable, and quintessentially English, and we both fell in love with the sheep. The welcome was warm and the apartment had what we needed. We would not hesitate to return. Thank you Juliet!
