I was atop Mt. Chopok, in the Low Tatras Mountains. Chopok is at 2,024 m (6,640 ft) and is the 3rd highest peak of the Low Tatra Range. The views were truly breathtaking from there! Including the meteorological observatory tower covered in snow. But, most of my time in Slovakia was in the High Tatras. The mountains there are even bigger and more epic. I was based in the small city of Poprad and took trips every day. I was in Slovakia in September 2015, too. But this was my 1st time in winter! And with a good camera ;). I also had a wonderful time in Budapest, as well! My very 1st time there. But, while I spent most of my time in the High Tatras I loved being in the Low Tatras! The mountains were absolutely magnificent! And I came to Chopok at a perfect time of day :). I took this photo in March 2018.

"The stay was enjoyable overall, good food and nice place, clean kids area, very beautiful surroundings. However, we had a few issues. Our room was full of insects. Very huge bugs which are spread around the whole area where the hotel is located were constantly appearing in the room. The water in the pool could be warmer, especially for the kids area. "Wonderful view of the lake upon walking down. Comfortable rooms with kitchenette. Staff was pretty good with understanding English and super accommodating for a later than planned check in. I just went into the restaurant, and the manager got us checked-in within minutes. And the spa, was out of this world!!! A must do."

"Instructions on arrival landed very late, so we had driven to apartment only to find you cannot get the key at the actual apartments. We had to travel to a different hotel to get checked in and pay the local taxes. The end room safe has no explanation or instructions and locked our passports away on the first day so we had to get somebody out to release the safe and never used it again. "Small pension with the great kitchen and service in the restaurant. Do not forget to book a table, they are busy during the weekends :) Nice, clean & comfortable room. Ski room is available with heating hangers. They also have private SPA. It is close to Jasna Ski Resort (ski bus for free) and just few minutes from Liptovsky Mikulas. "Very clean accommodation and had everything we needed while staying there. Plenty of wardrobe space, the bed was very comfortable and the shower amazing!
