If you want a break from the crowded touristy areas of Zanzibar; I highly recommend Treetop. Just be aware that off property it’s a distance to find restaurants or proper markets. But Treetop is so good for a quiet restful stay in Zanzibar. It’s also very close to Jozani Forest which is a major attraction for nature and wildlife ”

“Das Gesamtpaket war einfach genial. Zumindest für uns. Wir haben aber auch kein all-inclusive Luxushotel erwartet, sondern ein authentisches, familiäres Plätzchen mit viel Charme und einer entspannten Atmosphäre. Da muss man auch gelegentlich mal fünf gerade lassen und nicht Schweizer Standart erwarten. Man muss sich auch bewusst sein, dass der Ozean aufgrund der Gezeiten nicht immer brav vor dem Privatstrand wartet, sondern sich auch mal einige hundert Meter weit zurückziehen kann. Umgekehrt……

“We stayed in an upscale room and was fabulous. This hotel is part museum and the antiques and style make it interesting, staff was very friendly and the food was very good. Courtyard pool was very nice. No elevator but would recommend the upper floor rooftop. ”

Double check if breakfast is included in the booking in hotels.com as the website offer two breakfast option with different price which is a bit confusing. Tried to contact hotel to confirm via booking website and official hotel email address a few time but no luck.”

The rooftop terrace offers great sunset views and the restaurant on the terrace serves tasty Indian cuisine that is top notch. The lobby has a fountain that id want in my own home. I love the paintings on each floor the pool area is filled with greenery and has lots of space. Id highly reccomend this property to anyone visting Zanzibar”

“Marafiki Bungalows was a delight. But what made it a perfect location to rest & relax were all the employees. Lots of flora & fauna & quite. Management were women and everything done perfectly & no detail forgot. We had a Gluten Free person traveling with us & the chefs were super accommodating. Food was all delicious . Pool & beach were beautiful. A special thank you to Jackson who took care of all our food needs & the ladies working reception. Easy 1 hour ride from Zanzibar airport & would……
