"The room was clean and fresh but somewhat inconvenient. There was very little room to put things, especially in the bathroom (no hooks or towel bar on walls, nowhere near sink to put anything down). The glass door of the shower is totally inefficient, no matter how you close it, water leaks out all over the floor! Bed didn’t seem to be a full queen. Could hear voices from adjacent room. Ate supper in the restaurant and we were thoroughly disappointed by the meal and service. Location is great for airport car rental return and quick shuttle run to the airport was very professional and efficient. Would I stay again? Likely, due to convenience, but hope they make some improvements to the room, especially the bathroom. Front desk staff were excellent. "

"El Hotel es muy bonito… lo mejor que tiene es la terraza y el desayuno buffet que es muy bueno con una excelente calidad y variedad. Hace algunos ańos estuvimos mi Esposo y yo en el Hotel fue una linda experiencia y hace unos días decidimos regresar al RIU porque estábamos de vacaciones con mi mamá y su Esposo y nunca habían estado en Madrid y menos en el RIU y queríamos regalarle una linda experiencia como la que tuvimos mi esposo y yo hace ańos. Que pasa que al llegar lo primero fue que por Expedía hace meses yo había reservado 2 habitaciones Delux y al llegar solo tenían una disponible y la otra que nos dieron fue una básica 2 camas individuales las cuales no se podían unir por un mueble que tienen que las separan. Nos ofrecieron al día siguiente cambiarnos para una que estuviera disponible y otra cosa en pisos diferentes cuando era un viaje familiar y los 4 estábamos juntos. Lo otro fue que en una de las habitaciones una de las toallas estaba manchada y como si fuera poco subimos a la terraza nos dieron una mesa estaba haciendo un sol en Madrid Horrible la mesa estaba sucia, nunca nos atendieron ni la limpiaron, estuvimos más de 30 minutos sentados bajo el sol… pasaba personal del hotel y nos decían mi compañero viene ahora atenderlos y nunca vino nadie… pero como si no fuera poco el esposo de mi mamá se quejó con uno de los camareros y el le dijo que ese no era su asunto que tenía que quejarse con el supervisor. En mismo día de llegada 3 incidentes. no creo regresar"

"The Gran Vía location has charm, and the price looks appealing. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. We weren’t told at or before check-in about a €10 cash-only deposit for the fan remote — no air conditioning, just a fan. Arriving late with no cash meant a sweaty first night and an ATM hunt the next morning. Three bathrooms on our floor: one had no toilet, one had an unusable shower, and the third had a broken shower. None had hooks or shelves. The building has a single lift, which was in use by housekeeping for much of our stay — we were on the eighth floor. The room has frosted glass doors onto the hallway, so light and noise pour in constantly. On our last night, a neighbour’s room light was left on until 3AM. The windows onto Gran Vía look great but offer no sound insulation, and with no AC, sleeping through a warm Madrid night is genuinely difficult. Cheap, yes. Worth it? Not for us."

"Great rooftop gym with views of the skyline! Wish the site mentioned the pool was closed for maintenance (which was the main reason I booked the property) but I still got to enjoy laying in the sun on the rooftop. The courtyard was open and comfortable with nice seating, great spot to have an espresso. Staff was lovely and helpful"
