Le Moulin is absolutely delightful - so much so that we almost hatched a plan to tell nobody about it on our return, so that we could be in with a chance of booking it again!
Anne was great to communicate with in booking and arranging our stay, and we were greeted wonderfully by the excellent Madame Trouvé.
Once in the Mill, we had a fabulous stay. Everything is there you could need, the living spaces are decorated stylishly but with a really pleasing minimalism. The master bedroom is pretty wonderful, the kitchen area is fun, and the terrace over the river is totally amazing. With water running around the Mill it genuinely is one of the most chilled-out locations you could choose to stay in – and the lack of a TV makes it even better, we played games, read books and even did a puzzle!
We particularly appreciated all the kitchen utensils and accessories as we love France loads but as vegetarians usually end up staying in to eat, so cooking in a lovely kitchen like this and eating over the water was wonderful.
There's a boat and a kayak so you can take to the water, and a short walk away is the pool and magnificent games room. The pool was lovely, chlorine-free using salt instead, and the ping pong and table football are great. We even managed to get piano practice in for our eldest (with a bit of cajoling).
Once we'd left (a little grudgingly) Le Breuil, it has to be said that Monts is a brilliant location. We've visited the Loire Valley before but here, just outside Tours, is an unbeatable base with a ludicrous number of great Chateux and other sites to visit, all within easy reach. If we'd have been staying any longer we could have hired bikes and pretty much managed a second week car-free, as there was is much within easy reach.
We usually like to mix it up with our holiday locations but it has to be said this was the best holiday location we've ever experienced (and we've traveled a LOT), so we definitely plan to return to Le Moulin!
Thanks Anne, for creating such a wonderful place.
