Very disappointing experience. I stayed here about 4–5 years ago and had a similar experience, but decided to give Lakeview another chance. Unfortunately, the property was once again nothing like the beautiful photos shown online. The pool was closed/under renovation with no clear notice before our stay, and our room had visibly worn and damaged furniture, a heavily stained mattress, an extremely dated refrigerator, and other maintenance issues. I don’t expect a resort to be brand new, but I do expect it to be accurately represented online. The difference between the advertised photos and the actual condition was significant. I’ve stayed at Motel 8 properties in better condition.

If you like being off grid, this is the place as there’s nothing in town. The nearest community is about 15 minutes one way and would have anything you’d want or need. Since there’s nothing there it’s absolutely quiet and serene. The property is very well maintained we slept very well. If I have to nitpick and find any faults with it would be that the lights outside our room are very bright. Room darkening shades would be welcome.

Great price, friendly, helpful staff. The property itself needs some work. I spent several minutes waiting for someone to show up to check me in. When the young girl arrived via the elevator to the front desk, it appeared she’d been off troubleshooting another guest’s problem. She got me checked into Rm. 120. When I entered, a wall of heat hit me even though the AC was set to 60. The hallway was MUCH cooler. There was fast food trash in the overflowing garbage can and a used napkin on the counter. A dirty towel was on one of the beds. At the front desk, the girl struggled to find a replacement. She went upstairs to check and said 208 was clean and the room was cold. When I got there, I thought I heard the TV. As I tried to open the door after unlocking it, I found the door barred and people were inside. Back at the front desk, the girl determined she actually checked out 221! When I got there it was empty, clean, and cold🎉! Well, there was a paper wasp on the ceiling in the corner and a praying mantis above the bed. I love wasps and mantises, so that’s okay. The hallways had a bad smell to them, but the room was fine. The lady at the desk in the morning changed my room assignment from 120 to 221, so they wouldn’t try giving it to someone else. Would I stay again? YES! Friendly, helpful staff, great price, eventually a comfortable clean room with a couple of friendly roommates! What more could you asked? BTW, the parking lot was “sketchy”, but I had no problems.
