"This is a really well ran camp. Probably the most organised place that we stayed in in Sri Lanka. The area is very peaceful and safe and the tent very comfortable! The complimentary afternoon tea each day was a nice touch with some freshly cooked local delicasies. The safari was fantastic and the dinner each evening was the nicest food that we ate in Sri Lanka. Highly recommend "

"Great safari experience with personalized service, including nature loving, photographer owner riding along with us and providing wealth of info on local flora and fauna. Food was excellent, as were drinks and socializing with other guests in the evening. Tents and beds were comfortable too. Wilpatu national park is a world apart from the other overcrowded parks in Sri Lanka. Go if you can!"

"This was a tiny, pretty bare bones place but with a certain charm and probably a small environmental footprint. The proprietor and his assistant were gracious and accommodating. The property itself left something to be desired. The rooms were all ground floor and the way the place was built resulted in a lack of auditory privacy between the room’s bathroom and the guest house kitchen. We could hear everything going on on the kitchen and assume those in the kitchen could hear everything going on...

"It started with a bad surprise, for which I would blame Hotels.com as they showed pictures of the Mahoora tents, but booked us in the Big Game tent… a lower standard. Once that issue was cleared, we truely enjoyed our stay… the Mahoora tent is amazing, in a stunning environment. Service is great, candle dinner is amazing… and the safari organization was perfect."

"This is a primitive camping site. Yes the tent is large and there is an outdoor toilet and shower which is delightful but this is still just a camp site. No other facilities. There is no A/C and it can get quite hot in the tent. We had a wonderful candle lit dinner by the chef who also lit us a fire which was beautiful under the stars. Some holes in the tent need to be fixed due to mosquitos. "
