Rainbow Falls can only be seen by hiking the 2 additional miles from Devils Postpile (0.4 mi) from the trailhead. The only way to reach the trailhead is by taking a shuttle inside Devils Postpile National Monument in Mammoth, California. The hike is easy but fairly open so it can get pretty hot in the summer, but the view of Rainbow Falls is absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommend making the trip if you’re in Mammoth. "This was by far the worst experience in so many ways. If you go through the reviews first you can save yourself a major problem. I failed to do that on my end. We showed up at the location that was unsanitary and it felt very unsafe especially for our 4 year old son. This property does not follow COVID-19 guidelines or any sanitary guidelines at all. I tried reaching out for assistance and received no help at all. We had to pack up and look for somewhere else to stay because safety for my family...
