"This is an older hotel so don't expect a modern place. It is well kept and has its charm but somethings should be updated such as their computer system and carpets should be changed for hygiene reasons. The check in was extremely slow. There was virtually only one person checking in people, there was 2 people in front of me and it took over 25 minutes and I waited 2 hours for the room."

"This hotel is located in a great location and very convenient to everything downtown. There are some room facing the pedestrian street so the noise is not bad. The room is spacious and linens were satisfactory. We did not like the entrance where you have to take 2 separate elevators in order to get to the room and the breakfast looks nice but is very minimal. I wish they had a fresh waffle or pancake maker. I probably would not stay at this hotel in the future."

"Llegamos en la noche a las 11:00 pm. Avisamos q llegábamos tarde. No sabíamos cómo entrar estuvimos como media hora esperando. Hasta que el chofer comenzó a tocar bocina. Al final apareció una señora y abrió una compuerta. Era la misma q nos atendió en el front desk. La señora estaba, no muy amigable. Parecía molesta. Fue el único incidente que podemos decir desagradable en el hotel."

"The hotel was clean and neat, the staff was very friendly and helpful, it is an old building but well maintained, the food at the bar was good but a bit pricey, the drinks were quite expensive also, free breakfast was included and was pretty good, there was free secured underground parking but not recommended for large vehicles. This hotel/casino is a adults only spot that is guest friendly, I would definitely book this hotel again."

"I have stayed at the Grano del Oro on numerous occasions and it’s always a five stars experience. The hotel, an old Spanish mansion with gorgeous woodwork and appointments, is beautiful. The staff are incredible and helpful also. Marco and the front desk staff are great, and don’t miss Carlos at the beautiful bar. The restaurant is excellent and has added some creative touches to its menu in addition. A must stay in San Jose!"
