"House and the overall property was very good with excellent views. Had good clean linen and towels. It would have been good if they had left few Kitchen paper rolls and had a dish washer installed. The main problem we faced was that the Jacuzzi never worked for the whole two days that we were at the property. While the host (Alex) was very responsive and tried to get it to work, it never worked, this was a big let down. "

"Room was spacious, staff was wonderful, breakfast was okay - not the excellence I read about in previews reviews. The location in proximity to the bus station and Children’s Museum was amazing. There is a sweet little cafe nearby with incredible food and atmosphere I highly recommend, Cafe Rojo. For one night I’d stay again but weird things like lamps with no function because there are no outlets on one side of the room and the bathroom fan was obnoxiously loud and it turns on with the light so had to just get used to it. Overall, great value and would consider staying again when passing through. "

"Great hotel! Lots of food options, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and a good value. Feels more international and Costa Rican than other big brands. We enjoyed Barcelo very much. Nice pool with poolside restaurant and bar. Beautiful setting. My wife and I stayed on both the front end and back end of our trip to Costa Rica. We will stay again on our next trip to San Jose."

We had to open our room windows to a common exterior hallway to help reduce the temperature People were walking down the exterior stairs and next to our room ALL night each night. "Great location in front of the park and easy walking to museums and shopping. Staff everywhere were wonderful and quick and responsive, except in the bar in the evening. The bar only had one server, who was very social, so we had to chase them for service and it was slow. Rooms are being renovated, but the most important areas were addressed - we had a lovely room overlooking the city with big windows. Comfy clean bed, hot water (which is a premium in Costa Rica as Tico's don't appreciate our northerners habit of taking hot showers). A relaxing, great stay overall."
