If I could give this place 10 stars I would. It really was exceptional. We were greeted by the most friendly manager she was truly happy to welcome us. We got a welcome delicious alcoholic beverage made by the bartender and also got a surprise in our room with another drink and fruit it was truly special never had that before. We brought our rescue dog and he got lots of attention too from the staff. The tent is sooo fun clean, roomy and the pool is a great touch. We enjoyed watching the birds, butterflies and iguanas. The restaurant was delicious and again great drinks and attentive staff. We can’t wait to go back.

Our stay at Cielo Lodge was absolutely unforgettable and exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warmth, attentiveness, and willingness to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality truly made the experience extra special. The food was another highlight of our trip — every meal was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The local ingredients and creative dishes gave us a true taste of Costa Rica, and dining with such breathtaking surroundings made it even more memorable. Cielo Lodge offers an amazing variety of activities, making it easy to experience the beauty and adventure of Costa Rica. Whether exploring nature, enjoying guided excursions, or simply relaxing and taking in the scenery, there was always something wonderful to do. The grounds themselves are absolutely gorgeous — lush, peaceful, and immaculately maintained. What truly amazed us was the incredible wildlife surrounding the lodge. We saw colorful birds, monkeys, and so many beautiful animals right in their natural habitat. It felt like being immersed in a tropical paradise. If you are looking for a place that combines luxury, adventure, incredible food, outstanding service, and the superb wildlife of Costa Rica, Cielo Lodge is truly a hidden gem. We cannot wait to return.

I had a great time at Casa Lamia. I will miss the staff, Maday, Brian, and Ariel in particular. The treats Maday left, and the fun she evidentally had doing it, left me thinking that I have never had anyone take such delight in helping me have fun -- and I was married for 20 years! The room has a minimalist backing with tasteful decorations to make it unique and calming, more like a frame for the view out the large window. It was described as Bauhaus Chic, and I think that fits. The view of the ocean from the front is beautiful. The toucan I saw in the tree through the large window was a treasure, along with the Morpho butterfly I saw the day I left. I like getting some exercise, so the walk to Vaca beach was good. Even better was the walk to Macha beach, which has more sand. It is an easy walk to Quepos with most parts of the road having a safe place to walk. I would take a bus/uber/taxi to the town of Manuel Antonio (or to the national park, which is not the town) because I don't think that walk is as safe, but from Manuel Antonio town down to Espadilla beach is easy and safe. The walk from the bus stop is lit at night, which is really helpful. Breakfasts were always good and filling. They were restaurant style, sit down breakfasts, not U.S.-style continental breakfasts and not the C.R. traditional Gallo Pinto. Brian and Ariel both made specialty drinks to mix things up a bit. The hotel caters to couples, but for at least this single guy, it was a treat.

Tifakara was an absolute dream. We wanted a boutique hotel that was integrated into the jungle and that's exactly what we got! The property is gorgeous, with winding paved paths through the jungle to get to each room. We visited the onsite frog sanctuary each night to hear the 100s of frogs (and try to spot just a few!). The included breakfast was top-notch, with fresh coconuts for coconut water, a gourmet coffee machine, a la carte options like eggs benedict, avocado toast, etc, and the best part was getting to enjoy it in the gorgeous pool area while listening to the many birds. The staff were very attentive and communicated often by WhatsApp to check in about our stay and make sure they were meeting our needs. The rooms are small but very tidy, clean, and well-kept, and the outdoor shower deserves special mention: showering under the trees with the sounds of the jungle all around was meditative and memorable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

An incredible property immersed into the rainforest. So much to do on property including club rio where you felt even more remote. We enjoyed the hot springs more down in club rio than the ones closer to the rooms, which were also great. We saw monkeys and sloths on property as well. Staff were always very accommodating and the concierge staff were also very helpful. We would definitely staff at The Springs again.
