"Lovely little cosy retreat"

"The lodge is superbly located at the head of Loch Assynt with lovely views outside. The bed was very comfortable and the lodge has lots of power sockets. It is small and compact with limited storage space and no armchair but this is reflected in the price. Biggest problem was no mobile phone signal (EE). Owner said that there was a problem with the transmitter. Note, the WiFi code is buried in what looks like a tourist brochure, perhaps could be more obvious. Excellent value and I hope to return."

"The pictures do not do true justice to this outstanding property. It really is a rare find having rented many properties over the years.This is an exceptionally large open plan real log house, beautifully constructed with huge tree trunks. No effort has been spared in the attention to detail, it has an impressive lly immaculatel and well stocked kitchen, which includes spices, oils, teas and coffees, pans, gadgets etc.The seating area is inspired, with a well stocked fire place, made up ready to use, and plenty of logs to use.The Turkish steam room was wonderful to use and well constructed on the lower of 3 levels.There are multiple utility rooms, including washing machines (detergents in cupboards), cleaning areas.On arrival, we were also very thankful for the extra touches of bread, milk, a welcome gift pack.The communications from booking through to after we left made a real difference. Heather was so helpful, considerate and attentive. Thank you Heather!!I would challenge anyone to stay and not have their breath taken away.Lastly, not fair away is the village of Lairg where there are two convience stores, a petrol station, and The Pier: a local produce restaurant we loved.From the lodge you cqn quickly drive to amazing Highland mountian ranges, and the spectacular beach at Clachtol near Stoer. Lots of walks, wild deer and superb countryside.We can't recommend this place enough, we shall return!"

"This house was such a great place to stay for our first stay in our Scottish Golf Holiday. After an unforeseen, rocky weather event which made for treacherous driving through unusual high winds (even for Scotland), we made it to our rental. Kristi was in contact with us as they had already gone to the house to clear debris and make sure the house was still in excellent shape. The power in the area went off so nothing could be done. Fortunately, Dornoch proper had power and it was a very short drive to get food. We had to spent one night without power and Kristi went above and beyond to find the engineers out fixing the lines to get us back in good shape by the following night. The home is spacious, new, well appointed, comfortable and in a great location. Beds were extremely comfortable with a European king downstairs (smaller than US king, bigger than US queen) and two rooms with 2 sets of singles upstairs. Each level has a full bath. It worked perfectly for us as two couples. WiFi worked well once we had power. Kitchen was relatively well stocked with dishes, etc. Nice outdoor patio was a shame we could not enjoy due to rain and wind. We would recommend and return here without hesitation. Kristi and her husband were amazing hosts!"
