Unlike almost everything else at the Old Thorns, the breakfast was really sub standard. Tough leathery bacon, tinned mushrooms and (what tasted like) powdered scrambled eggs. I've had better breakfasts in a Travel Lodge! Also, if it was not included, they charged nearly £17 each for it! Such a shame. The wedding catering we attended was very good by comparison.

Excellent Staff. Very Welcoming. Room Dated but spotless. Lots of parking. Only thing not giving 5 Stars is the Commmon areas and Bathroom very dated. Carpets very worn in places. Some refurbishment underway . Location Excellent. No hesitation in recommending.

Clean room, great views of the cathedral, comfy bed, excellent blackout curtains for a good night sleep. But noisy plumbing kept waking us up - it needs some updating. Good place to stay for one night.
