4 Season Cottage in the Woods with Trail to Private Lake Usage

Geared toward outdoor enthusiasts, this cottage was renovated in 2009. It was a summer home for a SC professor. AWD or a car that rides up higher is recommended for travel to the cottage.

Now the cottage can now be used in winter, fall, summer, spring. Out the cottage doors: Hiking, Biking, Swimming, Fishing, Praying, Meditating, Wildlife, Star gazing. Close to the Green River Gorge zip-line and whitewater rafting and tubing on the Green River. Shopping: 10 min. from downtown Saluda; 20 min. drive to Hendersonville; 40 min. drive to Asheville. Winter mountain and Lake views. Summer - lush green privacy.

Outdoor built-in fire pit and large stone patio. Outdoor built-in propane grill. Canoe and paddle boat at lake ready for use. No extra charge. Firewood provided for outdoor use and inside fireplace. Trash service on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fully equipped kitchen. Coffee and condiments provided. Circle drive. Pet friendly.

Dream getaway from our getaway
My husband and I are moving from Texas to Maine and this was much a needed relaxing stay. The cabin was very accommodating, and we loved morning walks and fishing in the lake. Beth was very helpful in our late arrival and we will definitely be visiting again.

This is an unique property well suited for rest and relaxation. Beautiful stack stone fireplace with stack stone accents around the property. The cabin had everything we needed. Beth, our host, was proactive and responsive. My only regret is that we didn't book a longer stay! Tony

4 Seasons Cottage Exceeded Our Expectations
My husband and I had an incredible time at 4 seasons cottage. It exceeded our expectations in every way. My husband and I both felt the pictures do not do it justice. We got some great hiking in with our dog, grilled out every night, took the canoe out on Lake Sheila, and used the indoor fireplace every night as well. It was so relaxing and cozy and felt secluded because of the surrounding woods. There are a lot of beautiful wineries in the area as well which was perfect for us. Lastly, Beth was kind and communicative. This getaway was exactly what we needed and we will 100% be back. Thank you Beth!

Wonderful Host and Beautiful Place
This beautiful cabin is at the end of a one way road. It is secluded enough for wonderful privacy and yet easy to return to Saluda for a visit to shop or have a meal. It is the second time we have stayed. The cabin is called 4 Seasons and we have now experienced two and hope to return during another season. The amenities are excellent, and the host is timely and friendly. Could not recommend a better place to escape the hustle and bustle of work in the city.

Our favorite family getaway!
This is our second trip and we can’t say enough good things! It’s a short drive for us and as soon as you arrive you feel like the only people in the world! It is such a great change of pace from the noises and hustle and bustle of everyday life. Beth always communicates so well and has the cabin ready to go from heat, towels, sheets, all kitchen needs and condiments, trash bags, fishing and lake gear, and a note to welcome everyone! We love making fired in the pit outside and hiking the trails through the woods. It’s a great bonding time for our family. Thank you for another great trip!!

Quiet retreat.
I just needed time away. I picked the dreariest time of year — I expect the cabin/lake are wonderful in the Summer. I just needed a quiet retreat for a few days and this served well. Beth was accommodating about a little extra wood for the fire pit and when I left something valuable (and awkward to ship) in the cabin she arranged to meet me partway for a handoff. Very helpful.

Perfect Mountain Retreat
The cabin was the perfect getaway for our family of 3! The host went above and beyond to ensure our stay was great. Location is convenient to Saluda and hiking. The patio with fire pit was a great family hangout on the evenings. Cabin was very clean and cozy. Kitchen is well stocked. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Place in North Carolina Mountains
Beth was a great host advising me along the way about the drive into the place. It was so wonderfully isolated and quiet, what we needed as an escape from work. The lake was beautiful. People in the area we encountered as we walked the hills and around the lake were all very friendly. We had everything we needed and did not leave the cabin in the car from the day we arrived until we left. Thanks. Hope to visit again.

Nice cabin set back in the woods. Beautiful stone work and huge fire pit to sit outside. Roku tv with dvds if you want to watch tv. Very quiet. Will probably stay here again. Owner was excellent with communication from Day 1.

Quiet, cozy cabin in the middle of the woods. Beautiful outdoor space to enjoy coffee on the porch and fire in the fire pit in the evening. Access to a lake with canoe was an added bonus! So peaceful!

Surrounded by dense forest, the only foreign sounds we heard were hickory nuts falling on a tin roof and occasional high-flying jets. The clean, charming, well-appointed small cabin offered a big welcome for three humans and two small dogs. We plan to return!

Cozy, Secluded Cabin in the Woods
The positive descriptions given in the previous reviews are very accurate, and led us to enjoy this cabin for 9 days. The owner, Beth, was extremely kind and helpful. The location is quiet and secluded, but not in the wilderness. There are many other homes nearby, just not within eyesight, and you will hear regular airplane traffic. The little computer monitor is the TV, so bring your glasses for movie night. The kitchen is minimally but adequately equipt for two people. Larger groups might wish for a few more plates and a larger frying pan. The abundant supply of towels/linens was a welcomed touch. The internet speed is extremely slow (1.5 mbps) and sometimes drops out, but sufficient for minimal tasks.The gravel/dirt road to the cabin is rugged, even for an SUV, but I suspect a regular car could manage if you take it slowly and carefully. We enjoyed the beach on the other side of the lake with our two Springer Spaniels and met lots of friendly people there.
