“I rented this property for one night to celebrate my boyfriends graduation from college. He had sent me this to look at and we were both completely stunned! Its absolutely amazing, really clean, so easy to navigate to from the expressway, and such a cute place to stay!!! We really appreciated the communication from the host as well!! Thanks again!”

Just a note that once on the island there is only one bar that serves food, and one nice little store that has a good variety of necessities, so plan accordingly.”

“The 2 of us came up here with our 2 dogs for a long weekend. The cabin was just as pictured and had everything we needed from a fan in the master to toilet paper, paper towels, bath towels and the gas grill was even ready to go! We enjoyed the beautiful views of the lake, sunsets and sunrises, long walks on the beach and we were even lucky enough to catch a small glimpse of the northern lights! We traveled an hour away from the cabin to check out Tequamenon falls which in the summer or falls……

“We loved our fall getaway at this adorable cabin. The fall colors were gorgeous and the weather couldn't have been better! Sunny and cool temperatures so we could explore the area comfortably as a family with our 2 dogs. We especially loved seeing the freighters lumber past the cabin- our favorite times were lounging on the huge porch early in the morning and late at night when the lights from the freighters drifted past. While we could have rented a hotel room for the three nights, I wanted a remote setting with our home feeling and the ability to cook for our son after his graduation. This house is an amazing property, among the best I have stayed within the US as I travel for business as a senior executive. The property is top notch, amazingly clean and they think of everything! “My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!”

“Did we enjoy our stay? Yes Would we like to stay there again? Yes But the cabin may not be for everyone. Others have commented on deferred maintenance, and you may find window-coverings/windows/window locks that don't work well or at all, flaking paint on the bathroom ceiling, duct tape on the floor, or shaky railings outside. But overall, the place was clean, bright and comfortable; and it has an outstanding view on the beach in a very quiet location. It is nearby many amenities including……
