8/10 Good

The good:Excellent communication. All questions to the host were answered within minutes. The rooms and bathroom were very clean. The alley that the lodging is located in is very quiet.Close to restaurants and shops.Close to communications including two subway lines and only a station south of Seoul station.Probably one of the least expensive places to stay in Seoul if you use VRBO.Perfect for people on a tight budget. The not so good:I had a cotton sheet on the mattress, but only a nylon blanket over me. The other beds had mattress protector type pull-on sheets made of nylon and the same nylon blanket with no sheet. When I talked to the owner(?) he said that all was washed between each renter and didn’t seem to understand my request for proper sheets.Don’t know if it is different in winter time? The toilet is on the other side of a small, covered court yard and from a privacy point, it was very good. But I think it can be cold to walk the few steps from the shower to the room when it gets cold in the winter. We had nice weather so no problems with that.A kitchen is provided, but there is no real place to be if you all want to eat together. Sitting on the beds is the only option. We ate out all the time, so no biggie for us.In short, excellent place if you are on a shoestring budget or want to experience more of a ”kind of a modern” hanok stay than an apartment stay. But please, get some real sheets for the beds (and preferably topper mattress’ too).
