Blending the best of Seoul’s urban and rural traditions, Seongdong-gu is a district that fills the sky with its very tall white towers that skirt the edges of large leafy parks. When you visit Seongdong-gu, enjoy the views of the Han River and its tributaries as they meander between the skyscrapers.
The Seoul Forest is a tree-laden green opening in the heart of the city, its setting providing a serene escape from the hubbub of the metropolis. Wander along the paved trails that line the Jungnang Stream and spot deer, chipmunks, ducks and other wildlife. Relax in the Marsh Plants Garden and enjoy a meal in the waterside restaurant of the Culture and Art Park.
Wander beside the river in Hangang Park, where many locals and vacationers enjoy playing soccer and skateboarding. Play tennis with a friend or go cycling around the park.

Look around the various exhibits of the Cheonggyecheon Museum, which teaches visitors about its namesake stream. Admire the glassy exterior and enter to learn about the ecology of the waterway and its vicinity. Another highlight is the Waterworks Museum, explaining the history of the city’s drinking water.
Seongdong-gu is on the eastern side of central Seoul, on the northern bank of the Han River as it meets a couple of streams. Get the metro to one of the many subway stations or travel by bus to a stop and make your way around on foot. While you’re in the city, visit surrounding zones such as Yeoui-dong, Songpa-gu and Incheon.
