Get away and dive into kayaking, scalloping, fishing, crabbing, biking, watching dolphins/manatees/wild lives, fire pit, in Florida sun... 5 mins drive to Weeki Wachee State Park, 7 mins drive to Pine Island, 30 mins to Homosassa, 1 hr to Tampa, 2 hrs to Disney. Close to restaurants, shopping department stores, grocery... and local restaurants! The space SITTINGS: Living room, Dining room, Kitchen and 3 of the 4 bedrooms overlook the canal. Dining Room sits 6, kitchen counter bar sits 4, 2nd floor patio dining sits 10, 1st floor patio sits 6-8\. Outdoor patios are in screened wrap-around porch. Grill outdoor and embraces the back yard, pool area and canal. Each bedroom has an office desk. BEDDINGS/BATHS: The Palm Creek Getaway has 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths, and sleeps up to 11 guests. there is a crib in one of the on the second floor bedrooms. The master suite is located on the top floor all by itself (accessible only by stairway,. It has a king bed (sleeps 2) and it has its own private full bath. . NOTE: this master suite will be locked and stay vacant if registered guests are 5 or fewer. The 2nd master has one king bed (sleeps 2) and its attached full bath. This room is situated next to kitchen and has an upright piano for those respectful musical guests to play. The 3rd bedroom has a king bed (sleeps 2) and it has a double French door that opens up to a private outdoor sitting area by the canal over looking water and backyard. The kids bedroom is next to the 3rd bedroom and has a full-full-twin bunk bed (sleeps 5). There is one full bath between 3rd bedroom and the bunker bed. Total of 10 guests only SECURITY CAMERAS: Palm Creek has 5 exterior doors and up to 6 parking spaces. To protect guests and owners, all outdoor areas including pool and spa, garages, and entrance lobby area have video and audio cameras 24/7\. Only the property manager Alix have access to all these cameras. POOL & SPA HEATING (recommended between Nov and March winter days): There is a salt-water pool next to spa. There is extra cost of $30 per night for your entire staying to add heat to your order. Please arrange at least 24 hours prior your arrival. Pool will be heated on at 78 degrees (not higher) for your entire staying. The spa will be heated at 103 degrees (not higher) when you turn it on. Heater is running on between 8am and 10pm when the pump is running. Kayaks: There are currently 4 kayaks that sits 5 adults. Kayaks usage are free. You are responsible to leave them clean and lock them back up on racks. Parking: Parking can be only outdoors. We have up to 6 cars that can be parked on our driveway. Guest access One time private code will be given to guest by noon on the arrival day and it allows guests to access the house only during their booked time period. ADDTIONAL FEES \- Pool & Spa heating ($30/day) for your entire staying, due 48 hours prior arrival. \-The top floor will be locked when there are 5 or fewer guests. IF your guests are more than what is booked in your reservation, there will be additional $25 per guest per night fee. No more than 11 guests can be accommodated at Palm Creek. \- the first 1/4 tank (5 gallons) of propane usage. Additional propane will cost $10 per 1/4 tank. \- Guests are to keep kitchen equipment's clean to avoid extra cleaning fees. \- We charge $30/each to replace missing towels or pillows. Other things to note WHAT CAN YOU DO AT PALM CREEK \- Grill outdoor and embrace the ocean breeze and sunsets. \- Kayaking Weeki Wachee Spring Water or open bay. \- Fishing from the dock: red fish, cat fish, snapper, snook etc. There are two fishing poles in the house. \- Breakfast in screened porch, watching the wild nature from your own docks: dolphins, manatees, cranes, parrots, cormorants, osprey, eagle, ibis, seagulls, pelicans, porpoise, tweety bird, ducks, fish, sting rays, crabs… \- Burn a log at the fire pit by the gulf, toast cotton candies or hot dogs. \- Watch stars at night. Try SkyView Lite app. It is so cool. \- Take a leisurely stroll to one of the many local water-front eateries for dinner. \- Bike around the town. 2 bikes are available. \- Crabbing for blue crabs (crabbing season Oct 1 to May 1) \- Scalloping is a big trend here during July-Sept. People usually rent a boat for a day and go to sea. \- Palm Creek is tucked away in a peaceful family-friendly neighborhood with 270 degree canal access, but it is conveniently located within 10 minutes away from Winn Dixie grocery and other stores. \- Bring your boat and tie to our floating dock. Only 15 minutes to the gulf of america. Enjoy the Hernando Beach sand bar or scalloping in season. The rooms were clean and spacious. I slept like a baby on the comfortable bed, linens, and comfy pillows. Truly a home away from home. The pool was a true blessing in the Florida heat and humidity. We had 7 kayaks to choose from, which was perfect. The outdoor space gave everyone plenty of room, and the kids loved the fire pit to make s'mores at night. The property manager, Summer, was so incredibly sweet, helpful, and a gem amongst the springs. It was just what we needed—gorgeous location, quiet, on the water with access to kayaks, a hot tub and pool. Plus we had lots of space, enough for us to convene for meals and watching movies and then retreat to our own spaces. The home is well equipped, and so you should not want for anything to whip up that special meal. The screened -in porch areas were luxurious.and the hot tub topped off the experience. We saw manatees almost every day from our dock. We couldn’t have picked a better place to be on the 4th. Fireworks were going off all around us and neighbors were playing patriotic music, it just made for the perfect 4th of July! The house was big and plenty of room for our party of 6\. They had everything we could have needed during our stay. The area is very nice and clean and so is the place. The house has everything in the kitchen, all you need to worry about is buying what you are going to eat and drink. The pool was clean. There were 11 of us! 8 adults, 3 children. The house was spacious but a little tight when it came to sleeping. They did have futons & such but I would say this house is more set up for groups of 8 and under. The house itself was very spacious, lots of room on the upper and lower screened in decks. The pool was so refreshing! The kitchen is perfect when cooking meals. I would suggest maybe adding a few frying pans but other then that it was great. We loved kayaking, fishing, & boating. When visiting here, its a must to spend a day kayaking on the Weeki Watchee state park river its absolutely beautiful. We also enjoyed a really nice meal at Bayport Inn which is just a few miles down the road. Summer the property manager is right next door and she was very helpful. The house was clean and beautiful. Lot of parking space to park and maneuver Mostly everything you need to enjoy the place is there. Beddings and linens are nice. Lot of different places to seat and relax around the house, but nowhere to comfortably seat 8 people together for a meal inside or a drink outside by the pool. Dockage is good, canal is deep, and quick access to the Gulf, but Mud River can get shallow at low tide. It was pleasant to cool down and play in the pool, but it would have been nice to be able to take a quick shower at the pool level. All together it was a great stay and Summer is very helpful. We had a wonderful stay at Palm Creek Getaway! I have been visiting the Weeki Wachee/Spring Hill area all my life and now our kids enjoy it as well. For our son’s senior trip he chose this location! The house is spacious and clean and comfortable. There are several comfy spots to sit and relax with the group and spaces to relax quietly on your own. My favorite reading spot was the comfy chair on the west side of the deck. The breeze coming in was heavenly! We enjoyed all the amenities of the house, including the perfect little pool, kayaks, fishing equipment, and bikes. The porches are all screened in and this was great to keep the bugs away! We enjoyed dinner in the deck when we made a seafood feast! The property manager, Summer is right next door and happy to help with anything you’d need. The neighborhood is quiet and nice. Not your standard beach trip! We had a great trip! The place was amazing and had plenty of room for 7 people, but I’m not sure how it would comfortably sleep 11\. It was a little farther from the Weeki Wachee River than I thought, which made for a long paddle by kayak not recommended for beginner paddlers. But, if you can handle it, seeing the manatee was worth every bead of sweat (6-7 mile paddle round trip with and against the tide). Otherwise a short drive takes you to Roger’s Park where you can launch for a shorter paddle. However, the private and calmer neighborhood turned out to be more desirable than the “main drag” for our family and as we became acclimated the location ended up being perfect. If you like action and partying, rent something on or closer to the main Weeki Wachee. There are not many beaches in the area (FYI, Hernando Beach is not a beach), but a short pontoon ride landed us on our own tiny private island where we snorkeled with dolphin, needle fish, sting rays, and hermit crabs. Although it wasn’t the ordinary beach trip (we were skeptical when we arrived), it turned out to be one of our most memorable trips to Florida. We will be back again and again. Thanks to Summer for her directions and being a good neighbor for the week. We look forward to returning next summer! Oh and I almost forgot to mention the pool. I believe we were in it more than our beds. I had some friends,& their family, & some of my family stay for my daughters wedding. The house for our group was great. (We've stayed other places as a group, i.e. for the Daytona 500) Being a corner lot on the canal was very attractive. We got to watch a Manatee one morning! The neighborhood is very nice, all friendly that we met. Easy ingress & egress. More than adequate parking. Coffee, &/or breakfast at the porch table was splendid! The only suggestions for improvement: Some instructions in the book for the fancy couch. At least 1 more large fry pan; cooking breakfast for a full house was a little difficult with the available fry pan. The shower curtain rods mounted are a bit high, allowing water out of the showers. Biggest disappointments: I was really hoping the first floor bedroom was available for more of my family. Vrbo advertises property sleeps 11 guests, I had no more than 10; was charged $150 additional guest fee. I made a mistake in June last year while making my reservation for 5 nights. I adjusted my reservation to 4 nights in January, after talking with Summer & realizing my error. The adjustment to my reservation was confirmed. No adjustment was made to my bill, therefore I paid for 5 nights while only having 4 nights available. We had a short two night stay at the home but the property manager Summer made us feel we where staying for weeks. She made the stay easy. The home was clean and everything was ready for us when our group arrived. Pool and spa were heated. (Which was a good thing as the temp dropped to 48 one of the nights). We cooked on the grill and spent of our time on the river in the 5 kayaks provided with the property. It’s a large house with tons of outdoor spaces to chill. The cover patio/porch is two levels which gave everyone plenty of room to chill when not in the pool or on the river. We would recommend this place for larger groups. We have rented several VRBO homes and never had such great hospitality as with property manager Summer.
