“Have been waiting on a refund from host for over a week. He has been contacted by VRBO & Expedia multiple times without response. I was not going to leave a negative review but the host has left me no choice. We arrived at the property on check in day to a *very strong* odor of moth balls. At first we thought it had just been closed up for a long time & that it would decrease with air circulation. Within 15 minutes, my headache was so bad that I ended up vomiting. First of all , the proximity to Buck Creek/Lake and its picturesque scenery, the accommodating pavilions for lakeside picnics, and some good and close local restaurants were all in the plus column. “The Mills hotel is a beautiful hotel with a large, welcoming front porch and lobby. Very friendly staff, fabulous restaurant, nice fitness center and lovely, well appointed and comfortable rooms. Loved the old fashioned “ice chests” on each floor with small bags of ice. Great gift shop open 24 hours. Can’t wait to stay there again!!”
