We had the perfect, hot summer weather to go for a sea kayak on the beautiful St.Lawrence River. We started out on the large river but quickly ducked down a smaller tributary (the Raisin River) that dumps into the St.Lawrence. Here we spotted turtles and blue herons along the river banks, hiding among the lily pads.

"I had to make a last-minute booking for work and stayed here. I met the owner—his name was Mony (pronounced Moony, I believe). I was late checking in, but he took great care of me. He gave me a tour of the property and let me sit and chat in the bar as he was closing. This bar/hotel is very, very cool. I can’t recommend it enough for people passing through on road trips or bike trips. They have live music regularly and a beautiful patio out back. I will absolutely make a point to come back here...

"This place is a gem. Everything is first class, very clean and good quality. The location is good and with so many animals around (many wandering loose) it was like living in a petting zoo!. My 4 year old grandson had a riot. Don't let the goat in the house! Beds were comfy and large.I do not hesitate recommending this property to anyone.Oh, the Wi-fi was slow to non existent, but that's my only beef.This property is definitely worth the money."

"Grandfather's Landing was the best experience my family has had with a VRBO property. Francis was a gracious host. You meet him at his home on the Ontario side of the river. A 10 minute pontoon ride kater you are on the island in the middle of the St. Lawrence Seaway. The island had all the toys the kids needed to stay on the water for hours. The property was relaxing.
