Lucaya Beach is one of the liveliest beaches in the Bahamas. Stretching for acres, this sandy beach is a scenic place to enjoy long walks along the coast. Participate in exciting watersports that range from parasailing to snorkeling or relax with a cool drink at one of the lively bars lining the beach.

The charming Port Lucaya Marketplace is a bustling hub of more than 80 boutiques, restaurants and bars. The commercial hub of Grand Bahama, the marketplace is set on a 5-acre (2-hectare) peninsula overlooking the waterfront. Shop for items ranging from high-end fashion to local handicrafts and enjoy a meal at one of the excellent restaurants overlooking the water.

The Garden of the Groves is one of the finest tropical gardens in the region, encompassing 12 acres (5 hectares) of waterfalls, fountains, duck ponds and lush greenery. Learn about the flora of the island during your visit and marvel at the variety of birds and pretty butterflies that are attracted by the garden’s many plants.

Lucayan National Park is the most popular of the three national parks on Grand Bahama Island. Walk or ride a horse along well-marked routes that wind through the park’s hardwood forest, mangrove swamp and rocky coppice landscapes. Visit the park’s pristine beach, explore bat-filled caves and marvel at the rich variety of Bahamian vegetation.

Xanadu Beach was once one of the most popular activity beaches on Grand Bahama, offering everything from snorkeling to parasailing. Most of the restaurants and other amenities shut down after the closure of the Xanadu Hotel, but you can still go for a stroll along the coast and admire the beach’s natural beauty.

Gold Rock Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on Grand Bahama Island. At low tide, this secluded beach’s clear waters extend for almost 75 yards (70 meters) into the sea. Swim in the shallow waters, bring a picnic and eat while you enjoy the view or simply relax with the opportunity to escape the crowds.
