Riversmeet is overlooking the stunning river and creek side views, close to the local family friendly pub and parks. You’ll love this place because of the tranquil location and cosy cottage feel with beautiful views yet being only 2km from the city centre. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). The property is for your sole use throughout your stay.
The downstairs is open plan to include the lounge and kitchen. There is a table that opens up for 4 places with 4 dining room chairs. The lounge area has a pair of matching two seater sofa's surrounding the open wood burner and TV and DVD player. There are also books, DVD's, music system and boardgames for your enjoyment. The kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking needs. Upstairs the front bedroom has spectacular views of the river, the double bed and a large integral wardrobe. The other bedroom has two deluxe single beds, French doors and a full-length mirror with clothes hanging space. Both rooms have a large chest of drawers to keep your clothes in. The spacious bathroom is located between the two bedrooms which has a bath with shower, sink, toilet, heated towel rail and a cupboard with full length mirror. The cottage is fully carpeted upstairs, including the stairs, apart from the tiled floor bathroom. Downstairs is tiled with a plush rug in the seated area of the lounge and a hardwearing mat in the kitchen. There is a tiered garden at the back of the property that can be accessed by the kitchen door or by walking around the end terrace cottage. The top tier of the garden boasts panoramic views of the beautiful river with an enclosed decking area, seating and bbq.

Place by the River
Lovely property, convenient for Truro and very close to the lovely Heron pub. I had my 90 year old mother with me so the steps into the property were a bit of a challenge, particularly the step over the threshold. The stairs within the house were also steep, but she managed ok. Well equipped and tastefully decorated. I tried to contact the owner and was unsuccessful, which would have been a concern if anything had happened. Left a message on the VRBO site and telephoned the number in the folder of the housekeeper, but received no reply to my messages.

Could be great but..
The host was gracious and the location was nice. The Heron Inn a two-minute walk away was awesome. Day trips from there to Cornwall were great. This was the sixth VRBO in the UK we stayed at in the last few weeks. In comparison, if cleanliness is important, then this would not be a good choice. We felt compelled to clean as soon as we arrived and even then a deep clean would be required. We found that the pictures on the website were misleading in terms of cleanliness. If you are looking for a place that welcomes pets, then this might be just right for you. Parking is included but can be challenging as there is only limited street parking and no assigned spot. We let the host know of our concerns with the level of cleaning and she kindly refunded our cleaning fee.

Fantastic spot
We really enjoyed our stay. Location is great for exploring Cornwall with the added benefit of being on the river and having the fantastic views. The roof terrace view is one of the best views across the river fal that I’ve seen and I’ve been going to Cornwall for a decade. We had a rib for three days and moored it in Malpas Marina a v short walk from the house. House was slightly larger than I expected from the photos. Everything works as it should and beds were comfy, shower pressure reasonable, condiments and facilities all good. Parking was okay. We had two cars and could always find a spot along the road within a minutes walk. Pub is great, neighbours really friendly. All in all a great trip. The owls in woods around the river were a delight as was spotting an osprey (twice) fishing near the marina. Thank you to the host for being easily contacted for any questions and resolving a minor issue so rapidly.

Beautiful views from upper terrace
We stayed for three weeks as we were helping our daughter’s family in nearby Truro. The cottage was perfect for our needs. It was clean and we especially enjoyed the upper terrace deck when the weather was nice - gorgeous views over the river. The views from the main bedroom are also very nice. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of the kitchen items are a bit worn and tired, and could use some additional items. For example, only one skillet was provided, which was large and very scratched up, with no cover. Glassware also was a bit sparse - just some more attention needed to replacing pieces as they break or are worn out. If you don’t plan to use the kitchen for a lot of cooking, it’s fine. Staying three weeks we probably noticed it more than most! But all in all, we were very happy at Riversmeet. Parking is very difficult but we were well aware of that going in, so just set expectations accordingly and all is fine.

Malpas Village is beautiful and the property is just a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The Heron inn, almost next door, is great with lovely food and a stunning view of the estuary. Easy access to Truro and beyond. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days away and would highly recommend this property.

Fabulous views, beautiful cottage
Lovely, tranquil place with amazing views. Cottage clean and comfortable. Owner friendly and helpful . Dog friendly too, only thing I would say is that my dog is used to sleeping on the sofa so not allowing him on here was a bit of a challenge, maybe need to make the rules a bit clearer on the information but apart from that would definitely recommend and would stay here again. Thanks to Elaine and Jane.

Lovely location and convenient for Truro
Great location in Malpas near excellent busy pub. My family who live locally say it is usually difficult to park and they park further along the road towards the (lovely) park which is ideal for a run. It is a five minute drive to Truro. The garden is accessed via a communal alley way and is terraced into about five small terraces. The top one has lovely views and is decked, the climb is not for the unfit! We took our drinks up there a couple of times and enjoyed the views!

Very comfortable cottage in a beautiful location
Enjoyed a lovely weekend in this cosy cottage, overlooking the river with lovely views. Excellent location for touring this part of Cornwall. The Heron just a few yards away provides delicious food throughout the day, thoroughly recommend. The only minor problem was that the cottage was very cold on arrival & there were no matches to use for the wood burner & the electric heater struggles to provide enough warmth downstairs, maybe some cosy blankets could help with this. Would definitely look to stay here again in the future.

This was a 2 story unit and not a cottage as advertised
We were initially disappointed that this was not a single story cottage instead it was a 2 story unit within a Terranced apartment block with very limited car spaces. This add that was supplied was very misleading. In saying that the property was well appointed in a great location. Elaine kindly provided a hair dryer which was not included. We are three mature travellers planing day trips and coastal walks and to have a washing machine was great. However the clothes lines up the back was overgrown and there were no pegs, which we bought. The inside clothes aired needed instructions or was broken. We did enjoy Malpas and the location was great and quiet. Lovely views on the top terrace. The 40 minute walk into town was very pleasant. Regards, Catherine Huxley

Great location with lovely views
A very nicely presented and atmospheric cottage. Beautiful views from main bedroom and from terrace. Small terrace with bench in front of cottage, garden on several steep levels, top of which is a new decked terrace with table and chairs. We used this for outdoor cooking but running in and out of the kitchen is not an option, so if you do it you need to be prepared carrying stuff out. There are a few plastic buckets which help save a few trips. We were a fit family of 4, youngest age 12. The owner allows pets and we booked with this in mind. However as a last minute decision we left the dog at home and were happy for it. We could not have let the dog out into the garden as there is a walkway with open access to the road in front at each end. Ours is a larger energetic dog. A small or old animal on lead maybe just fine. A nice touch is the welcome scones, jam, tea, coffee, eggs and milk, thank you very much. Great walks on the doorstep and 30 minutes from just about anywhere in South Cornwall. Also liked flexibility of booking Sunday to Sunday.
