Bright & Cheerful Coastal Cottage for Multi-week & Monthly Stays

Available for multi-week & monthly stays from November through April, this charming, light-filled and pet-friendly cottage is steps away from the Niantic River estuary and has gorgeous sunset views.

Set up for remote work as well as pleasure during the "off" season. There is a cozy electric fireplace and a lovely, south facing sunroom, with windows on three sides that offers relaxing sunshine even on the coldest day.

A fully-equipped and renovated kitchen with gas range, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and oven is made for cooking and eating. For grill-lovers there is a gas grill next to the deck at the back of the garage, with a prep/serving table, and screened gazebo for enjoying the yard mosquito-free. Or, take a five minute drive to one of the local restaurants in Niantic for fresh seafood, Indian cuisine, sushi, pizza, bakery, local/organic food, pub fare, and a brewery.

There are two cottage-sized bedrooms upstairs (Double and King) and a small flexible room with TV and twin trundle bed. Both the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms have showers (tub upstairs) and there is a washer and dryer in the kitchen.

If you feel like staying inside, relax on the chaise with a good book or sprawl on the comfy couch and stream your guilty pleasure on the flat screen TV. If you are looking for outdoor adventure there are nearby beaches and parks.

Included in your stay: Wi-Fi, linens, towels, soap, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer (upstairs cupboard) bug repellent, sunscreen, beach towels, beach bags, camp/beach chairs, household items, first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, and back up supplies (toothpaste/toothbrush, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, umbrella, etc.)

Not as crowded as Mystic and with many options for activities, the Cottage on Wood is a wonderful choice for your home-away-from-home work/vacation combo. Welcome!

Great getaway for our family!

We stayed at Cat’s house for about half a week and it was just as we expected! The small front room was perfect for my toddler to sleep. The house had everything we needed, was in a great location and Cat was super easy to communicate with. We loved our stay and will be back if we are heading to CT again!

Everything you need and then some

This quaint cottage in a lovely and friendly neighborhood is a gem! Not only was it very clean and comfortable all necessities were there for your convenience! The only thing I think that was missing was a heads up that there are very steep stairs to the second floor and as Seniors it was a llittle difficult to manage. We would highly recommend to young couples and families.

Wonderful and Relaxing

The cottage was fantastic, great location and plenty of room for our family. The back outside patio was delightful to enjoy coffee in the morning and drinks in the afternoon ! A short walk down the road brings you to the water. Nice for a swim or to splash around. Watching the boats was great.

Post wedding vacation

Wonderful location for a post wedding vacation with extended family. The cottage was clean, welcoming and in a fabulous location close to great restaurants, shops and the Niantic Boardwalk. The host was easy to communicate with and very kind. It provided all of us with a nice location to relax, both inside and outside, after a very busy weekend. We all would highly recommend this location and would rent here again in the future.

Peaceful and Relaxing vacation.

What a beautiful week! Cate’s cottage had everything we needed! The cottage was very clean, bright and cheery Enjoyed 5 beautiful beach days. We walked around Niantic and enjoyed some nearby restaurants an enjoyed delicious ice cream from Cowlicks ice cream store. Thank you! We really enjoyed our time here!

Clean and fun house.

Wonderful Little Getaway

This was perfect for my family of 4 and my parents for a little beach getaway. The house was in a great location close to several beaches and a quick drive to Mystic! The hostess was fantastic to work with. We were arriving a little early and she was very accommodating to our needs! Also gave awesome suggestions for beaches and places to eat which we really enjoyed. Would highly recommend!

Quaint home and wonderful location

This lovely house was comfortable and clean. The location was perfect for scenic, relaxing strolls, and drives to Niantic and other towns. The garden and common areas were peaceful and cozy. I’m sorry we didn’t have more time to hang out there. All went well and the owner was helpful. I would definitely come back here.

Beach town getaway

This is a really cute house in a great area. It is a two minute walk down the street to see the Niantic River. You can sit there for hours just watching the boats go by. Very quiet with beautiful sunsets. Also a five minute drive to the cute town of Niantic full of restaurants and shops. The house itself has a fully stocked kitchen, very clean, multiple indoor seating/ relaxing areas and a backyard with comfy chairs for a nap. Great communication with the owner.

Wonderful, relaxing stay!

We loved our stay at Cottage on Wood. Cate was a wonderful, communicative host. The house was perfect for our group of six - we took advantage of games and activities in the house, enjoyed relaxing in the front room which got lots of sunshine, and spent time in the spacious backyard. Rooms were cool and beds super comfortable. Everything was clean and accessible. The location was excellent and we loved the 2 minute drive to the boardwalk where we enjoyed lots of restaurants and local attractions; a 20 minute drive to Mystic and the casino which we also took advantage of. A fabulous week and would stay again!

Amazing cottage at the shore.

This house was a perfect gathering place for all ages. It had plenty of room to spread out, or to find a quiet nook. The firepit and backyard were great settings for some fresh air. The neighborhood was quiet and everyone was friendly. Having access to the beach only a walk away was amazing, and Cate was an incredible host. She was very attentive and provided more than we could ever need. I would definitely recommend this place!

A keeper!

What an awesome place to stay! We had a great few quiet days away. Absolutely loved having access to a beach just at the end of the road. It kept my mornings with a 3 year old packed with great discoveries at the beach - we were there during low tide and every day was different! Plus, it wore out my toddler enough to get an afternoon nap in! The condo was well equipped with everything you'd need in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms! I'd definitely not hesitate to stay here again! Thanks, Cate, for making our little vacation so comfortable!
