Check in desk lady got distracted. I was at the desk checking in & then she started checking in another group. Weird. She had my credit card info even though paid in full but then pretty much hunted me down & reached out to my friends in the party asking about a credit card in case we ate room snacks or whatever & then later apologized (at least) since she already had my credit card. It was embarassing. I went to have breakfast the next morning in the mostly empty restaurant. I asked to sit at a window table. Hostess said no those tables were for larger groups. I asked to sit at the bar (bar seats were close to the window). She said no since no breakfast served at the bar. We ended up getting to go breakfast comtainers & sat at the picnic tables outside. When arrived to the hotel, there was no availability. A room was assigned but it was dirty, disorganized and with someone's belongings, like it was already occupied. Therefore the reservation was canceled and the manager agreed to make a refund. Coming from Yellowstone it was perfect. Really felt like being in the west. Hospitality was awesome! Room was decent. Beautiful views, we had a room that opened to a balcony. Kind, helpful staff that welcomed us and made us feel at home. They even have fire pits lit at night and smores. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet and remote. Beautiful lodge and location. We stayed in the lodge not the cabins so I can’t speak to the cabins. The lodge was really nice and the room 6 had amazing views from the porch for sunrise. Firepit at night for s’mores and it was near zero light pollution so it was excellent for stargazing. Such a nice place to stay. We liked the homey ranch setting and convenience of a restaurant on site. A tip for the staff would be to have fresh coffee/tea available to your guests earlier than 8 am and freshen the pot mid-morning. People want to get to the park as early as possible before the traffic and big crowds develop. Many of us early risers need that first cup before we develop a headache. It was a pretty painful wait the second morning to have a coffee pot out by 8\. It is very well located just outside West Yellowstone, which it was great for us that were avoiding tourists, but close enough to the park. I will definitely be staying there when I go back to Yellowstone. The cabin could be a little bit cleaner and the coffee maker should be upgraded, but nothing that would make me not coming back.
