Wonderful base from which to explore the Cotswolds.
Very quaint rural inn with comfortable rooms and cosy bar. Excellent outside space, particularly when the weather is good. Friendly and helpful staff. Homely and welcoming.
Stayed here for one night whilst visiting the Hook Norton brewery. Thee pub does not serve food but the brewery cafe a short walk away served an amazing breakfast from 8:30 and the other pub in the village served evening meals most evenings.
Great location for exploring the Cotswolds. The pub is a lovely country pub. Its right next door to Hook brewery which does a lovely breakfast. The room we had was large and spacious for all 4 of us. We highly recommend this pub.
A lovely location. The room was very spacious and comfortable with a huge bed. A lovely cosy pub to have a drink in as well and a very good base if you’re visiting the nearby Brewery. Would definitely recommend their restaurant for breakfast!
A lovely friendly pub serving as the brewery tap to Hook Norton brewery which is a 4 minute stroll away. Accommodation was excellent and good value.
Truly 5***** recommended
Check-in was easy. It was explained that as it was a working pub that there would be disturbance until approximately 11pm. Fair enough.
Unfortunately load music started in the bar below at around 11:15pm which continued until 12:45pm. It was too loud to sleep.
There is a disconnect in the operating of the pub and accommodation which needs clearer rules and commitment to providing the required level of service to both.
This was my second stay. The first was all fine and breakfast vouchers were provided to contribute to breakfast at the brewery. This stay was very much not fine and no vouchers offered.
Please find a way to respect all of your clients.
The location was lovely, I only had a stop over for my journey north but would love to visit again. I had a lovely welcome from the staff. The room was large with everything I needed to feel at home and have a good nights sleep.
Nice Inn, the rooms are above a local bar, it was noisy until the bar closed. The rooms where clean and the staff friendly. It is located on a small country road, far from any town.
Stayed for two nights as part of a bigger trip and also to do the brewery tour. We were given room 1 which was huge and very comfortable. In the mornings we took breakfast at the brewery and the evening a meal at the Sun Inn, both were excellent and a short walk away. The pub doesn’t do hot food itself but I think it gives it a better atmosphere. They were setting up a food van for the Saturday we left.
. The noise overnight from the air conditioning/local brewery/or something.
Otherwise excellent.
Accommodation, staff and of course, beer, excellent.
Will be back,
Ian

Ok at a pinch.
Comfortable bed, and a lovely beamed bedroom. A bit noisy but it was a saturday night and we were warned when we arrived as room was directly above the bar. Fire doors were left jammed open with blocks of wood (which are by each door) which needs to stop as it is dangerous. Rooms need better ventilation fans to stop the mould...see photos. My reccomendation is to stay in the star inn nearby.
From the moment you step inside the Pear Tree Inn, you are met with a warm and friendly welcome. Located in the charming village of Hook Norton, this could become my fave pub and village in the UK!
Adorned with beautiful hanging baskets and the namesake pear tree, ripe with fruit, the pub has a large beer garden, perfect for sipping a cool pint in the summer sun.
Our bedroom was beautifully furnished, a blend of rustic wooden furniture, modern furnishings and traditional roof beams. The bathroom was well equipped with lovely toiletries and a huge fluffy white bath sheet.
Downstairs in the bar, you will find a great selection of ales and ciders available from the local brewery down the road, along with a good selection of wines and spirits.
Highly recommend this inn as a place to drink and snooze!
Understood that no breakfast would be available (as I read) but had expected evening meals to be served. It would be helpful to be added.
Room 1, shower support bracket broken making it impossible to have a proper shower. Misc damage to parts of room although size of room applauded and appreciated.
We could only find one shower towel (and shower mat) in the morning nothing else.
We stayed some 7 or 8 years ago and would have said everything couldn't have been better when we left.

Let down by poor bathroom
Very friendly and welcoming check-in. Spacious room and attractive decor. Old building so narrow stairs and steps to catch you out - to be expected and part of the character of the old inn. Noise in room from bar immediately below but didn't go on late.
The big disappointment for us was the bathroom. There was no extract ventilation and no heating, so condensation on walls when the shower was used. The shower tray was very flimsy and creaked and moved. The shower doesn't have a door but the screen doesn't stop water spraying out of the cubicle onto the floor and bathroom door. The door was delaminating as a result. There was no towel rail or hook, so where do you put the towel when having a shower? No shelf for toilet bag etc.Overall a functional disaster.
The bathroom really spoilt our experience. If it had been as good as the bedroom, then 4/5. But for the room rate we paid (£85 and no breakfast), it was a disappointment.
Please make the bathroom functional and hygienic - heating, ventilation, shower cubicle that works, shelves or hooks.
Absolutely amazing- bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in, I booked very late and was greeted by a lovely lady who kindly took me to my room even though she’d already locked up for the night. Firmly reccomend, I will definitely be back!
