"This cabin is tiny, but cozy. Everything we needed was there. We stayed here to be close to SIU for our granddaughter’s graduation. The drive to the school was easy. The setting on the lake was very pretty & peaceful. We were pleased to find we could bring our pup. He enjoyed his walks on the quiet road. The hosts are so very friendly & quick to answer all questions."

"The cabin was great. It was clean, comfortable, and worked great for our needs. The drop down ladder/stairs to the loft were not an issue for our group. The kitchen had just what we needed to make breakfast and dinner. We basically only slept there because we explored all day. We did bbq and have a fire at night."

The PERFECT family vacation spot!
"We had no idea where Goreville, IL was when we started looking for a location for our family to get together. We wanted somewhere close for our daughters and their families and this was a 2.5 hour trip for one and a 3 hour trip for the other. (My husband and I are about 9 hours away.) This was absolutely PERFECT for our bunch! The chalet was super clean, spacious, big kitchen, 2 living areas (which was perfect since the 2-yr old went to bed way before the rest of us), a beautiful view, plenty of kayaks, and even the lily pad for the kiddos. The host was unbelievably considerate and had more than we could have ever expected—including snacks, coffee, ice, popsicles for the kids and even brought over an ice cream maker! The spot on the lake was wonderful—quiet with an inlet to explore with the kids in the kayaks. I just cannot imagine a better place we could have stayed at for our first annual family vacation. AND this is the place we will call “home” for the rest of our annual vacations. Absolutely perfect."
