Appearances can be very deceiving
First observation. - 1. No coat closet. Oh well, hang coats in bedroom closet. 2. Only 3 hangers for two large closets. Back to LR and put on a couch. (Bought hangers at Dollar General) 3. The TV was not working. No directions. 4. Gas logs - No directions. 5. Each bathroom only had one small towel rod. (Sleeps 4?) 6. No grab bars in the shower. When I wash my feet, prefer to hang on to something. 7. No hooks for robes, or clothes. Use the toilet? No thanks. 8. Cobweb in the shower. 9. Used kitchen stools for night stand and luggage. 10. Game table for 2. Poker chips and no cards. (sleeps 4?) 11. There was a lot of dust for a new unit. 12. One smoke detector was missing. 13. Spare construction materials were stored in a guest closet. 14. Hall bath had a tall vanity, but the mirror was sideways and had to crouch to see your head. 15. Unsealed wood in showers, and as kitchen back splash? No caulking? In time, will become moldy and impossible to clean. 16. My guess, as a builder, no vapor barrier in crawl space. In time, wood floor will buckle and warp. 17. Had to climb over couches to open blinds, or windows. (No planning) 18. BR, or bath, walls not insulated for sound. Just a convenience I like for privacy . Etc, etc. Oh yes, there's more. . Conclusion: Fancy, expensive materials with NO design, or planning. Very Amateur. Will not rent this unit, again. For the money, Motel 6 would have been a much better option.

Our Non-Stay at The Cabin in the Woods
We rented the property with no prior knowledge other than the picture of the property. We were aware there were steps, which my wife normally can not negotiate, but she wanted to try. She could not climb the steps, so we had to get a room in Cherokee. Even though we knew the policy, we asked for a refund, which we did not receive.

The cabin was beautiful and very clean it’s a little on the small side and the drive to the cabin was rough. The kitchen was wonderful but the bed mattress are awful and bed sheets and quilts were dingy looking.

It was super beautiful. I only have four complaints and three are super small! The major one is please please pleaseeeee fix the washer! I followed the written instructions and it still didn’t work. It made my clothes smell. The others were that the back door knob was loose, one of the bathroom lights were out, and the fans and ice dispenser weren’t the cleanest. But really no complaints at all other than the washer!! I loved staying here! It was exactly what I needed!

Very nice cabin. The “newness” is a double edged sword. New is clean and free of damage and wear. But new also lacks the items you might find in other rentals..... like a wine bottle opener!!

good location once you find it. There isn't a full kitchen however. i went into town and bough oven mitts, cleaning supplies, and some other kitchen items. If you plan on eating in like we did, bring supplies from home. overall, it was a great stay. we will be back.

Fraudulent cleaning company
Either fire your cleaning company or get a lawyer and sue them. What a fraudulent way to steal $85.00 from someone to just make 2 beds put out soap toilet paper paper towels and fresh towels. There is a thing called broom for sweeping not just filthy nasty floors but to get cob webs out of corners. Oh, and dont forget the thing called a mop.

It’s a great getaway cabin! If you want to disconnect from social media and reconnect with nature, this is a great place to stay. (If you need Internet or cell service, you can get some in town. It’s just a few minutes down the road.) :)

The washing machine still does not work, washes the clothes but the spin cycle does not start and one ends up hand-pressing the clothes so that they can put it in the dryer. We called the number they gave us but they told us they would let management know. Obviously that has never happened, since, a long time ago the problem comes out in the reviews. Besides that, the place is very beautiful and quiet.

We really liked the cabin. The road coming in is a little dicey, it’s not good for cars passing you. But we made it ok! I saw several reviews mentioning that there wasn’t a skillet so we bought one and left it there. Lol The only complaint I would have is that the beds need better mattresses. Other than that it was great!

Get there in the daylight! We had no trouble finding it But A fun narrow winding road ramping up to the house. Had some worry about checking in cause we had no info from realtor and had to call emergency number on the trip up. But they got us checked in promptly. House is well built but could use some furniture in bedrooms. Kitchen needs a frying pan. All in all it’s a wonderful cabin. I would rent again.

Very clean, nice getaway location in the woods. Close enough to out door activities. Road is very windy & narrow down you need a good vehicle. Could use some kind of frying pan for cooking. More places /books / bars to hang towels. Would return! Thank you!

Cabin is located in a nice, safe neighborhood, and appears to be a newer home. Close to Cherokee. Cabin is in wooded location, but other homes are visible from this cabin. Cabin itself was nice, loved that there were no t.v.'s in bedrooms, and the front proch rocking chairs would have been relaxing, had there not been a dog barking the entire time. Check-in was contactless, as there is a keypad to let yourself in. Could use better cleaning, I checked between sofa and love seat cushions, found dirt and food crumbs, also under sofa and on rug. Washer needs replacing, does not spin water out of clothes (yes, we followed instructions taped to wall behind washer, to press power, spin, start, it didn't work!) - we had to wring by hand in the tub. Could use a larger pot and more silverware. The yard could use some TLC, weeds have overtaken side yard and tree has fallen in back yard. Wasp nest on front porch ceiling. Over all this was still a good vacation. Though, the problems with the property previously mentioned, should be addressed for future guests.

Cute little cabin! Very minor complaints.
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin in the woods! Everything was clean and neat when we arrived and the cabin had all the essentials that it claimed, and none that it didn't (i.e. bring your own shampoo). We also brought our own nonstick frying pan, as instructed by a previous guest and that was definitely helpful. Only complaints would be: 1) The washer/dryer, though it appears to be new, malfunctioned. There was a note on the washer with instructions, telling me it was common, but even when I followed the note's guidance, the washer still kept going in loops leaving our clothes soaked. We had to wring them out and move them to the dryer, which then wouldn't allow you to turn off the constant beeping, though we tried. 2) The bed(s) were pretty hard. This is obviously personal preference so some may like them, but I found them to be VERY firm. 3) Pillows were thin. I slept on 2 and this helped some. Again, perhaps this is personal preference but it definitely felt like they skimped in this regard. You may want to bring your own pillow. Other than these minor issues, our stay was great. We had one night with an issue with the alarm system and the customer service at Yellow Rose was very responsive and friendly.
