Old Town is well-liked for its wineries. If you'd like to do some sightseeing in the greater Chinon area, you might plan a trip to Maison de la Riviere or Domaine Couly-Dutheil.
The room was dated but clean and quiet and the hotel provided everything we needed for a one night stopover breaking a very long car journey. Breakfast was good.

The room was not the best, bathroom required renovation and in general service could be improved, in fact we stayed for 2 nights and nobody cleaned our room after the first day... we returned in our room around midnight and we found it as it was at 10 am

After seeing mixed reviews I had been concerned but for the price we paid this place is amazing. We were lucky to have been upgraded to a 2 bedroom apt, which I would book first time if we came again as see that the one bed would be small for 4. Lovely spacious accommodation, very good value for money, and good location, but it is a care home for the elderly, so a weird unexpected environment.

Old town, goes back 1000 yrs. Appears down on its luck now, many properties vacant and for sale, business and residences. Mediocre restaurants, never found a good one in 4 days. Good hub for biking, driving to other chateaux and the Abbey.
