“Booked this last minute for an overnight stay. Check in was very straightforward and property very clean. We arrived quite late after a day out in York, the pub was quite lively and popular on a Saturday night looked like a nice atmosphere. Room very clean and well appointed. Some noise from downstairs such as doors banging and voices but not excessive and once it was closing time was silent. Shower was hot and steady for both us in the morning and the breakfast cooked to order was excellent……

“Our stay at the Craven Hiefer hotel The room was very tired looking ,Stains on the carpet, the sheets on the bed. Not ironed towels hard and very creased ,the crack in the wash basin ,dirty skirting boards. The lady that we saw briefly one morning was asked to replenish the tea,coffee, didn’t happen she didn’t vacuum one day she didn’t even wipe the sides unfortunately the room we had let it down badly but it was room 13 😱 Now the staff in the hotel were absolutely wonderful we couldn’t have……
