The fact that it was 2 bed/2 bath, made for lounging with a huge sectional and a large tv, located in the middle of it all, and is a sophisticated reimaging of an historic school sealed the deal. “The pictures don’t do it Justice. The Black Pearl has everything you need and is well thought out with nice touches. Location is perfect-short walk to restaurants, shops & theater and about 10-15 min walk along boardwalk to pier and beach. We stayed three nights with our two teenagers and having two bathrooms was great. Beds are comfy, fireplace is a nice surprise and the kitchen is well appointed. Would highly recommend.”

“Beautiful loft apartment, well appointed, great views of Black River and main street, convenient to entire downtown. Loved the amount of space and downtown view, feeling of being in the center of the action. Good for those who don't mind stairs, probably not the best for anyone where stairs are an issue (both from the street entrance up to second floor and up to loft master bedroom). “I think a lot of the negative reviews are unwarranted. It was clean and had plenty of room for the 6 of us (plus dogs). The house is old and you need to use the window AC units, but it was fine and stayed cool all day. The prices are 1/2 that of other properties in the area. The house is a few minutes away from the beach. It is a duplex, but we never had an issue with the neighbors. The only bathroom is on the top level and up a flight of steep steps. It may not good for elderly people or people...

“We wanted something that was walking distance to downtown and the lake. This property gave both. We were able to walk to different parts of the lake from this property and easy walking to the main downtown/ Martine Museum. There is a full kitchen with most supplies. The layout of the place was nice as well. The bridge that goes over the Black River is right outside and it didn’t affect our sleeping. I even brought ear plugs just incase and never used them. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay....

“We love the house and the back yard. The house was very clean and tidy and also adorable. Also, there were beach towels and beach chairs which was fantastic! We certainly used them on the beach. We were in town for a wedding and it was a very comfortable place for us to stay and easy access to where we needed to be.”
