Large clean rooms and friendly staff

At first entrance the lower level smelt of water and mold, we had an issue with our keys not working at first also. Once walking the steps to our second floor room we walked across carpet that our shoes were sticking to in places to get to our room. Once inside it was extremely hot and the young fellow who helped us cut on the air and once room cooled off the room was a good temperature. TV has a lock on volume only going about a 1/4 of the way up so it made it hard for us hear some of the channels. The food at breakfast was not very good the sausage links were hard and tasteless but there was a yogurt cup. Parking is tight and if coming from the interstate you have to go down the road and make a U turn to come back to hotel. Felt icky staying there and would not recommend this to any of our friends.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the lodge but did have a couple of concerns worth sharing. The staff was generally friendly and helpful as we needed ice for my wife's medicine to stay cold and the ice machine in the lodge was failing for the time that we were there and staff provided it from the kitchen. The room was clean however many other parts of the lodge were lacking in that regard. The window sills adjacent to the tables out on the balcony must not have been cleaned for weeks at best and is a good example. The service at the restaurant was decent however both days we stayed the breakfast was delayed from opening and not all of the food options were ready. It was almost like staff was too late each day to be ready to open. The iconic parts of the hotel were very well marked and very well kept and that is essentially what made the stay worth it.
