Stayed 2 nights for a spartan race on the property. After checking in we were sent to the guest services to pickup our parking pass and resort info. The girl at the counter immediately started off with stating that because we stayed here for two nights, we get another two nights for free at later date this year. Nothing in writing. The girl at the counter asked what time my races were and I told her. She said that they have a nice breakfast buffet that Saturday morning. It's only a $20 deposit to reserve it and that after the breakfast the staff would show us around the property. We would also get a $250 voucher to use during our stay.
Fast forward to race day before the breakfast. I checked my account and was actually charged $50. In the pile of paperwork the girl gave me, it stated that a $20 deposit would be refunded in the form of a visa gift card........ Not gonna attend this breakfast deception.
I called the guest services line and talked to someone and explained the situation. I then asked outright if this was a timeshare pitch because that was never disclosed to me. Of course I couldn't get a straight yes or no answer. Typical beat around the bush answer. Thankfully she refunded it back to my card so I didn't have to dispute it through VISA.
Also, almost everything at the "resort" costs extra to do.
Poor maintenance and nothing within walking distance. The staff is burnt out and miserable. I have a lot more to say but they limit the length of the review
