We had the best time at this resort! Every single staff member we met was absolutely amazing — so kind, welcoming, and always going out of their way to make sure we were happy. A huge shoutout to Ali, who took us snorkeling and on the dolphin cruise — such an incredible experience and he made it even better! Abba took such great care of us on the beach, always checking in and making sure our drinks were full and we were comfortable. Queen greeted us every morning and afternoon with the biggest smile — she truly brightened our days. And Steven was one of the best servers we’ve ever had — attentive, friendly, and just an all-around great person. Honestly, every single team member we came across made us feel so special. You can tell they all love what they do. We left feeling so grateful and can’t wait to come back again soon!

We had a wonderful stay at The Mora. The facilities are great, the beach is lovely, the spa is magical and the dive school was awesome. We enjoyed the variety of food at the various restaurants and highly recommend the Teppanyaki one night. All the staff were fabulous and very friendly, Elizabeth was particularly helpful ensuring we got restaurant bookings - Asante sana!

Service varies from day to day, some staff are very well trained some not so much. Misleading information about Spa vouchers, we received an offer of two massage per person but when checking out we were asked to pay for those. Beach is flooded with locals offering various tours, massages, selling souvenirs, it is making it very unpleasant to walk between beach chairs and water. Something needs to be done to make guests feel safe and comfortable on the beach.

Beautiful new resort. Very spacious. Many pool areas and lounge areas. Great friendly staff /service. Feels 5 star. Great food at the buffet and restaurants. But hard to book restaurants. We only were able to book one dinner out of 5 nights. Always booked up.

This hotel is truly a 5* in Zanzibar. Free from insects and mosquitoes in the room unlike other hotels in Zanizbar. All inclusive and great for the price you pay. I booked the hot tub/jacuzzi room and was snot disappointed. Great staff.

This is a new resort. It is sparklingly clean due to the efforts of all the lovely staff onsite. Of special note are staff members Edgar, Sadik at the pools, Khadija on the beach and George at reception. So welcoming! The facilities, food and guest rooms are top rate.

The staff at this hotel made our stay exceptional! We were celebrating a birthday and they went above and beyond to make sure it was special. If we ever needed anything all we had to do was ask. The restaurants were fantastic and the property atmosphere was excellent! A huge shoutout to Viola at front desk, Atanas for the entertainment and Ajay, Sanjeev and the team for making the birthday extra special!! Can’t recommend this place enough - thank you to the fabulous Emerald team!

WOW EMERALD ZANZIBAR Out of the many countries that I have traveled to, and several five star resorts that I have stayed at, I must honestly say that I’ve never experienced greater excellence in service than at Emerald Zanzibar. From the powdery, white sand beach, to the delicious restaurants, to the exceptional staff, who all go out of their way to cater to you, make conversation with you, and make you feel like the most important person in the world. The rooms are extremely spacious and clean, the grounds are full of beautiful gardens, there are multiple pools, multiple restaurants, and the value for the money is certainly there. I will absolutely be returning!!! Thank you Mohammed in reservations, Bahati on the service staff, Ajay in guest services, and the Nepalese executive chef whose name I can’t recall. Wow wow wow!!

"An exquisite stay"!

Hej, just back from a fantastic holiday at Emerald Resort in Zanzibar. The hotel was "exquisite" with beautiful rooms with African wooden carved furniture, bubbles, fruit and chocolate up on arrival and every day spotless clean. But the best of all were your staff who everyone was so genuinely friendly. You were always greeted with a "jambo" or "I'll hope you're enjoying your stay and is there anything I can do for you?". You felt that they always "walked that extra mile". We'll definitely come back and next time hopefully with our sons and their families. Just a couple of "small tips" to the Hotel management: -a hand rail on the balcony to hang up wet clothes would be good.. - a cover sunshade over the children's play area, so they can also play when it's hot -an ATM at the hotel, especially for those days when local craftsmen were invited to the hotel (we didn´t bring much cash) - and a pram ramp at the outdoor stairs, as there are many families with children at the hotel So thanks again for making our stay so fantastic! Specially to you "Sea", that greeted us every day with a joke and a big smile 😊 Best regards Kim&Björn

Overall very clean and nice resort. Would be better if it were closer to stone town and some of the other main cities, it was an hour drive or more everywhere we went and rides were expensive. The resort was also extremely colonized, Iike there wasn’t a single African restaurant out of the 5 that were there. If you wanted to experience any African/Tanzanian culture you had to leave the resort. The staff is underpaid (which we learned through talking to some of the staff we befriended) so the workers relied heavily on tips (yet there was no atm on site?). The property was Arabic owned but all local, underpaid workers which kind of felt like modern day slavery :( the staff was extremely friendly but unfortunately dropped the ball a few times during our stay. For example, we booked a taxi through the front desk for an excursion we had in 2 days. The taxi never showed up and there was no record of a taxi being booked so we missed our excursion and had to reschedule. Also, I was there for my bday in which my bf planned a whole surprise day in which the staff was supposed to decorate our suite & bring a cake - they never did and my boyfriend had to complain 3 different times before they finally did but it was at 10pm when they came? We made 2 different requests with the house keepers for the mini fridge that were never fulfilled. Lastly, there was no gift shop/convenience store on site, so if you forgot toiletries or needed snacks or anything, you had to leave the resort (far drive

A big hotel with good amenities, a lot of concrete, and a long way from Zanzibar city. Probably wouldn't stay here again my preference would be a smaller more boutique hotel.
