“While I contacted the host as soon as it became clear that the air conditioner was not working at all and the apartment was 85 degrees and she was polite and communicative, she did nothing to remedy the situation so we got very little sleep in the sweltering apartment. She apparently contacted Maintenance but they never came. There was also a road closure that made it impossible to enter the building garage. “The only security between my family and anyone on the street (in a rather rough-looking neighborhood) was an unlocked door to the building and a hollow-core apartment door with a simplistic key code. “Very nice and comfortable stay in a beautiful historic building. Having safe and secure free parking attached to the building was a major draw! Not having to worry about finding a parking spot and paying additional parking fees in the city alleviated unnecessary stress. Our stay was due to a family member having surgery with a week long hospital stay at the nearby Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
